Re: A Dunlop dilemma

IWB, keeps it in more. I carried a 1911 for a long while, but the grip stuck out too much. I moved on to a 1½ stack HK45C, same capacity, much shorter, not much wider. I tried carrying in a hybrid type holster but the leather sweat guard kept folding over (it'd do it to a skinny person too, my gut j...

Re: Hearing protection for indoor range use

I use HL passives with Foam earplugs underneath indoors, and Sordin PRO-Xs outdoors.

Re: SHTF Gear Ace-1 Holster- Warning Pic Heavy

Well, I solved my issue. The Raven I ordered is a great holster. The problem is it doesn't conceal worth a ****, is a PITA to take on and off with an ARES Ranger belt, and it places the gun in the perfect area for my shirts to end up on top of the grip. So, being the smart fella I am I came up with ...

As a side note, I cannot recomend the OSOE Gear Cobra Riggers belt for carry. Its floppy as hell. It is a decent non-gun belt though. I bought mine for work where I cannot carry so it works out for me anyways.

Re:

I've had my Aliengear for about 6 months now. Great, thick leather. No folding on this one. As for roughing up the back? The back is already on the rough side, and has stayed put. I see no reason to mess with it. I've got mine set on the low setting as well and is very comfortable at 5:00. The only...

Re: Double Review: Southwest Arms and AlienGear Holsters

How thick/stiff is the leather? I currently use a SHTF ACE-1 and the leather likes to fold over and prevent easy holstering/reholstering, and more importantly it knocks the safety off...

Re: Phobias other than guns?

So here are mine... 1. Spiders, I hate them with a burning passion... I can pretty much let them alone now, but if they come near me they are dead. 2. Deep dark water (think the ocean), ever since seeing the documentary on the Titanic at the Sci. Museum as a kid... which leads to 3. Rusty shipwrecks...

Re: SHTF Gear Ace-1 Holster- Warning Pic Heavy

So, a quick update on the holster issue. I've narrowed the issue down to the sweat guard on the holster somehow managing to get on top of the safety and pushing it down as I move throughout the day. I believe this is due two two things: The thin (non hardened) leather on the guard, and the weak rete...

Re: Lets talk about belts.

I used to use one of the 1 3/4" kydex stiffened belts by 5.11 (I think the "Operator model), but after a while it began to get loose and not hold my holster up as well. I've since been wearing it at work and it has loosened up even more and has started to come apart. For my not at work bel...

Re: Red Dots on Handguns

I couldn't disagree more. Just look how far red dots have actually come in the last 10 years. I don't know what shooting was like firsthand "back in the day" but everyone runs red dot on rifles now and a lot of shotguns as well. As technology progresses so will the optics. There may be a ...
