Re: Gun store/ range permanently closed

Rumor also has it they were not paying their suppliers. If that is true they may have bleed the business in the last 90 days to pocket a bunch of cash and leave the creditors hanging. It will be interesting to see what happens to the building, not sure if they owned it or leased it.

Re: Is .40s&w effectively done?

I wouldn't buy a new 40. But I have 2, a USPSA limited gun built long ago when 40 was the go to caliber, and a Glock 27 - again back in the day when if you wanted a subcompact it was a 40 or nothing. The Glock is a nightstand gun so it fills the role and isn't worth replacing just to move to 9. The ...

Re: Announcement from Sportsman's Warehouse

Cabela's was no where near going under. The private owners wanted to cash out, having $5B in one asset is just bad financial planning. Happens all the time. Now that said BP has destroyed the Cabela's brand, the service, store layout and selection is beyond a joke. The Rogers store looks like a ghos...

Re: I'm looking for a Glock Armorer near Baxter or Wadena

What do you need done? Being a Glock Armorer is about as complicated as changing a tire.

Re: Any Stock & Barrel club members?

The range itself is fair to poor. If you like all the other fluff then I guess it might be worth it. But if you go just to shoot understand the air handling is strange, the draft pulls the smoke to the floor and through the shooters stall. You end up standing in a foot of smoke. The divider walls ar...

Us 'experienced' folks keep a healthy supply on hand at all times. Scoop it up when you can, reload everything you can and you never really have to worry.

Re: Good place to find what a pistol is worth

Make sure you compare the same caliber. 40 is getting tough to get rid of, I would suspect it will be worth less than a 9 in the same gun.

Re: Help with optic selection

I have three Burris units and really like them. Features I looked for were dot size, manual brightness adjustment and ease of battery replacement. I run one on a 34 MOS, one on 625 and the last on a 929.

Re: Dick's is now really hurting...

Dick's isn't a sporting goods store, they are are a clothing and accessory store. Their gun section has been small and now appears it is going away. The fishing section is amateur hour, walmart level stuff. Other than that they sell shoes and spandex, as long as the clothing has a 'hot' brand they ...

Re: How Stock & Barrel Gun Club screwed my family over

What is it about gun range owners that makes them in to flame buttholes. I know someone that had a very similar experience with Osseo.

Re: .44 mag - what barrel length?

I'd recommend around 6, can go a 1/2 inch either way but 4 gets kind short and 8 is beast.

Re: Stock & Barrel Eagan

Are the shooter bays on the lanes at the new place lined with the same rough saw wood? I went to the original site once, saw that and my first thought was the powder residue was going to make a mess of those walls in short time. Looks nice at first but a few years down the line going to be a filthy ...
