Re: Vista Outdoor Aims to Exit Several Brands, Including Firearm

If they bend over for this, I'll boycott their full product line. I'll miss Hoppes but they can't be stupid enough to think that they can sell ammo, optics, holster and everything else gun related but not selling the gun itself makes them golden with the liberals. Jesus if you don't have the gun, th...

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods to destroy all unsold firearms pulled

First, if Dick's destroy's inventory they will not get a tax break. If a company intentionally destroys an asset it is not a pretax expense. As a public held company their tax auditors will be all over this. Secondly, based on their stock price and this latest stupid move I would suspect they will b...

Re: Did some stippling

As long as you love it you're good. Try to sell it and you maybe surprised on the depreciation loss.

Re: Handgun cleaning products and routine

When I get home my guns get a oil wipe down. Once they are room temp I fully disassembled them - yes even the dreaded Ruger Mark I and III. Hoppe's #9 for the barrel Powder Blast to remove the bulk dirt and any lube. Breakfree CLP for general oil Grease for bearing surfaces Breakfree collector for s...

Re: Should I get a pistol or rifle AR9?

I've got a Just Right Carbine in 9 that takes Glock mags and it is fun toy. Very, very accurate. Only problem is you can burn through 100 rounds of 9mm like you are plinking with a 22.

Re: BPR today & PPS random whining

I've got a PPS M2 and love it. Shoots like a dream and fits me better than the 43. To each there own, I've got a 27 I'd trade for a second PPS any day. I'm not anti-Glock, I have 34 MOS and shoot it great, just not a fan of their compacts.

Re: Entry Level Semi-Auto Shotgun?

Look at a CZ, MSRP is under $700 and retail is much better.

Re: Restricted buyer

Most of you really don't get the issue. As far as MYOB - I don't give a flying F about the guy or his girl friend. But I do care about the charity - I support them financially and believe in their cause. They are not gun folks so I suspect they are ignorant of the details and the FFL they used is is...

Re: Restricted buyer

It was a raffle. So I guess he could claim he gifted the winning ticket to her and then she technically won the gun. The part that concerned me was the conversation at the table and the charity volunteer helping with the paperwork just shrugging it off. It use to be only the hunting groups raffled g...

Restricted buyer

Was at a charity event and a guy won a gun. When he went to sign for it, he had his girl friend put it in her name. They questioned it and he said he was restricted due to a past domestic issue. Everyone knows this guy hunts, has a number of shotguns and rifles. I told the paperwork guys I would not...

Re: Winchester Model 12 Shotgun Heirloom

Not safe, give it the respect it deserves and shoot lead out of it. If conditions require steel use a different gun. Bismuth is an option but be prepared it is not cheap.
