Re: Gunstop, Im done with you.

It's not a bigbox store, that's for sure. It's a more laid back environment, treat that how you will. But, the staff actually know what they're selling, how to use it, and so forth. Go to a bigbox store and try your luck getting info any more specific than "RCBS is green. Hornady is red. You ca...

Re: Mosins and Ammo

I doubt Putin's idea of punishment is not letting a few American gun nuts do their annual mosin bubba-build off. We put a Russian weapons import ban into effect a while back that must be still holding. Then again, when we put a higher tariff on Chinese made tires, they came back at us by not allowin...

Re: Buying two guns for adult kids

Is your daughter looking at hip carry or purse carry? In my experience, the length of grip is harder to conceal than length of barrel. I'll assume she has little 110lb hands to match a short grip, but could benefit from a longer and heavier barrel. Kinda sounds like something more common in a revolv...

Re: 22 ammo shortage ease up yet?

Manufacturers raising their prices won't work to ease demand unless all of them agree to it (price fixing). If they don't, the market will just slide to the least expensive option. Either the end retailer or the distributors are the ones who should really be raising prices. And raising prices if pe...

Re: Who wants to see Seismic Sams head explode...?

Clearly there are also the cave/street vendors throughout the region running their own ammunition manufacturing operations like the one in the video. There are also guys building or repairing pistols and rifles including parts forged + "machined" using tools and methods that would make a ...

Re: Who wants to see Seismic Sams head explode...?

Progressive presses are for chumps that can't find $0.03 an hour labor.

No wonder that pakistani surplus ammo I tried years back sucked.

Re: ATF to reclassify / ban M855 ammo next month?

Blurb from an article on the ammo rush. "What that's done though, is created a scare to where anything that's 5.56 mm is flying off the shelves. Friday alone we probably sold 6,000 to 7,000 rounds of 2.23 mm or 5.56 mm." http://www.cbsnews.com/news/proposed-ban-on-popular-bulle...

Re: New Shooter- low POI

If you're anticipating the shot, you might be pushing at the gun at the last second. The gun wants to recoil, so you naturally push to keep it down. Don't. Practice your trigger pull with the gun empty. I don't know how tolerant the shield is to dry firing, so some snap caps might be a good investme...

Re: Overbore

Man some people have such a great sense of humor. They think that you are kidding about the utility of the 20mm/17. Targets at distances of 22,000 yds. are easy as pie. Barrel length has to be 106 inches or greater and the rifling is only 1 in 205 to keep the bullets from exploding on barrel exit. ...

Re: How about some reloading stickies

I'm guilty here, about Sticky's. Cobb has asked me to edit one of my postings to Sticky it at the beginning of the Reloading Forum, I have not completed it as I was considering leaving the Forum when we were having all the issues with bombing out. I may need to re-consider - how do you guys feel ab...

Re: Gone Missing: .223 neck tension

Sorry, but I'm not apologizing. Problem #1: Not setting the die correctly. That is NOT in the manual, it's in the die set instructions. Not knowing enough to screw the size die down to make contact with the shell holder at top dead center means he didn't read the die directions, PERIOD. That's a bl...

Re: Gone Missing: .223 neck tension

Let me guess. Sizing die wasn't low enough to get to the neck? Bp Yeah. That one. I thought it should go all the way down to the holder. But, I was encountering a lot more resistance than I thought normal, and the necks looked like they were getting crimped in some weird way. Turns out they just ne...

Re: Gone Missing: .223 neck tension

Ok. Figured it out!

I'm a little hesitant to say what the problem was. OldmanFCSA has my address and I'm worried he might show up at my door to whoop me over the head with a bullet puller.
