Re: Carry gun suggestions requested

Both the Walther PPS (there's a good deal on the forum right now) and Smith and Wesson M&P Shield are fantastic for carry. They're single stack, 6/7+1 capacity (with flush fit mags) and very slim. What you lack in capacity, you gain in concealment. You may not think half an inch or less in width...

Re: M&P Shield Kydex holster

I would call it a Raven replica, but not even Raven is making them for the Shield yet. As soon as he finishes it he's going to send me a pic. I'll post it up as soon as I get it. Actually, they are, and it's a Quick Ship option too. You pay the Raven Tax, however. Didn't I just read somewhere that ...

You must have bought it shortly after I handled it at the shop. ... you might want to sanitize that! :)

Re: M&P Shield

Comp-Tac is now making holsters for the Shield. Don't be a tool, get an MTAC.

Re: Ranges

Practice at home with either an empty gun or snap caps. Only when you're confident in your ability to SAFELY draw and fire should you consider live ammo practice. The key is to start very slow. Slower than you think. Get each motion down perfectly before you speed it up, and even then it should only...

That's a decent price, but I wouldn't be saving any money with the gas cost and distance I'd have to drive. :(

Re: M&P Shield

Same as the M&P. you cna either press the lever down inside or check the barrel and magwell 3x, point in a safe direction, pull trigger, and hope you don't need the spackle and paint. Oh? I tried disassembling a full size M&P at Cabella's and no one there knew how to do it. I could have swo...

Re: What 1911 should I buy?

Don't buy Remington.

Springfield MilSpec for a bare bones but still modern 1911. Ruger SR1911 or Springfield Loaded/Range Officer for a mid tier price, high quality 1911.

Re: M&P Shield

How does it disassemble? Do you still have to send a probe down into the ejection port?

Re: MN legal 1911 22's

According to Sig, their 22 is made of zinc, which would fall into our Sat. Night Special category and not legal here. No agency I've talked to wants to bother with a list or even seem to care which guns fall into that category, but wait until one shows up at a murder scene. They'll work fast to see...

Re: MN legal 1911 22's

Don't buy a GSG / ATI, either. Claptrap garbage of the highest calib... degree. It all comes down to price, really. You can get a really high quality Browning Buckmark or Ruger MK I, II, III, or 22/45 with good warranties from reputable companies for significantly cheaper than a claptrap 22 clone of...

Leaving Glock for Taurus is like going from.. well, Glock to Taurus. What was she thinking? She could have done worse with something like Kel Tec or Hi Point, but not by much.
