Re: How to begin? I am a total newbie

If by "newbie" you mean that the "4 rules" don't mean anything to you and/or you've never shot at a public range (or possibly at all) before, then definitely take a basic firearms class first. I would suggest NRA Basic Pistol or the pistol fundamentals class at Bill's. That way, ...

Public Restroom Gun Shelf

I stopped at my local Kwik Trip this morning to get gas and use the men's room. I found, to my surprise, that they have installed a handy flip-down gun shelf in the stall. It is right within arm's reach while one is sitting on the pot. I was able to flip down the shelf, unsnap my IWB holster and set...

Re: Carry question

If your permit is recognized in Wisconsin, then you can carry in bars. However, you may not consume any alcohol on the premises. As stated, gun ban signs do have the rule of law in Wisconsin. The signs don't have the same requirements that they have in Minnesota, so make sure you look for one before...

Re: Wisconsin suppressor owners

Here's an article about suppressors that just came out this week. It contains a lot of good information about them as well as some good links.

Re: Mob attacks in Minneapolis

“Curfews are just going to make them want to act out even more,” said Mary Carter. “I don’t feel like that would solve the problem because I feel that kids that would adhere to the curfew aren’t the ones causing the problems to begin with.” So, stricter laws would only affect the law-abiding? Where...

Re: Anyone a member of RiverFallsSportsmens club?

I've been a member since this last summer, but I've shot in their summer pistol league for a few years. It's a nice small club. They have two trap houses, a 50 yd pistol range with cover for the shooters, a 100 yd rifle range and also a 200 yd rifle range. The only downside of the 200 yd range is th...

Re: Armed citizen stops parking lot robbery...

I liked Patterson's clarifications in the comments section on this article: Howdy folks, Thanks for all the support, an event like this, even when your sure your doing the right thing is still very stressful. I've been trying to get the adrenaline out of my system for 2 days now... To clarify a few ...

Re: Looking for a .22 for my wife

@ Wiscosotan - How is the trigger pull on that revolver? Sounds interesting, and a possible option for my wife also. I don't have a lot of experience with revolvers, but I bought it brand new about a month ago. The DA pull is heavier than my Beretta 92FS that has had quite a few rounds through it. ...

Re: Looking for a .22 for my wife

+1 on the Taurus 94. Bought one for my wife as she prefers revolvers for their simplicity, and she wanted a .22 for the low recoil. Capacity isn't so much an issue, as it holds 9 rounds, and I picked up a couple speedloaders for it as well.
