Re: Holster help

What make and model of gun are you buying for? user842 was quite close. I am buying an XDM 40 3.8", just not a compact. :cogitating: I thought the 3.8 was the compact... They have a 3.8 and a 3.8 compact. The 3.8 has a full size grip and larger mag capacity. Essentially the same gun, different...

Holster help

Sorry if I am beating the proverbial dead horse with this question/questions, but here it goes. What should I be taking into consideration when I am holster shopping? Obviously comfort and weapon security are a major concern. I should mention I am interested in an OWB and it will be for carry purpos...

Re: Factory or aftermarket?

Thanks for all of the responses. I had a hunch that the factory would be the way to go, but I figured it would be best to ask. Cuda, could you please clarify what you mean when it is suggested they omit rubber? Secondly do the folks on the xd boards have any recommendations as to what they go with i...

Factory or aftermarket?

Well, I have finally made a decision on the handguns I am going to purchase. Now I am in need of some assistance in making a sight decision. If my terminology is off, feel free to correct me (based on what I have seen here at MNGT, that would have happened either way :D ). I am going to be purchasin...

Re: Input needed

I appreciate all of the input. The xdm seems to be the one (out of what I held so far) that felt the best. I am leaning heavily towards one. That being said, I still have to make a final decision. Buying fishing gear is so much easier!

Re: Input needed

Well, the search should be over soon. I am meeting up with JJ on Tuesday to do some shooting. I hope to have my new choice in possession within the next week or so.

Re: Input needed

Just curious how you narrowed your search to those 2 without trying them yet. Have you considered the M&P? Not to say they are poor choices, just wondering what your criteria are. Good question Tim. I like the thought of having interchangeable back straps. In the past when shooting it seemed li...

Re: Input needed

I can vouch for Chet, he's a good guy. I brought him here hoping someone had both of these and might meet up to let him try them out? Rentals on guns and overpriced range ammo suck. I am guessing he will pay range fee and provide his own ammo (maybe a Federal product of the HP variety :D ). If he d...

Re: Input needed

Thanks for the quick replies. I appreciate it. I will most definitely be shooting them before I make the purchase.

Input needed

If this topic has been beaten to death, I apologize. I am looking to purchase a compact 40. I have narrowed my search to the following 2: XDM 40 compact Glock 23 Hoping to get some unbiased input, if that is possible. I am basically looking for some pros and cons, and any concerns that I should be a...

Finally

After hearing many great things about MGTC (thanks JJH for the referral), I decided there was no better time than now to join the party. Quick blurb about me: I grew up and live in the Twin Cities. I enjoy fishing and hunting, and am a recreational shooter. I I signed up here to learn more about fir...
