Re: primer/powder online order, share cost of hazmat/shipping?

Nice! I haven't travelled that far for components, but it would be a nice drive and the price is right.... Thanks for the help!

Re: Cheap Ammo

Yep, I thought the same thing about the bulk buy stuff, but quickly got into reloading. Now I shoot 3x as much as before, for ammo that costs less than 1/2 as much. So, doing the math I'm still spending more than I ever was :o . I'm all about quantity (and not quality?) in this example. Reloading 45...

primer/powder online order, share cost of hazmat/shipping?

Natchez has Winchester primers that are on sale and I'd like to place an order. Anyone want to split that hazmat/shipping charge for someone living/working around the western suburbs of Mpls? Currently, large pistol primers (Winchester, possibly others) are typically $36, but they're around $28. I'm...

Re: Upgrading Sights...

True, they don't last forever, but I'm okay with that.

Re: Upgrading Sights...

I too want to upgrade my regular Glock sights (on a G21SF) with night sights. My G30SF has factory Trijs installed and I'd be just fine with having that brand on the other one too. From what I've read here is that some people have all the tools to do this. I don't know what the std charge is for thi...

Re: Glad to be here!

A few places to go: Skydive Twin Cities (western Wi, exit 16 just off i94), and Westside Skydivers in Winsted. Sure, there are other places but these are the closest. I know that SDTC isn't open in the winter, but they typically have a big/fast airplane in the late spring. This'll usually get you 3-...

Re: Glad to be here!

Funny you mention that. In 2003, I was dozing in the back of a Cessna 206 when we heard a loud BANG at about 8k. Almost immediately after, it got real quiet and oil started spraying on the windscreen. We were over the town of Waseca and the four skydivers (including myself) decided it would be best ...

Re: Glad to be here!

Wissota? Mary and Bob! I don't get out there too often, but it's always fun to visit them. It's a 2hr trip just to get there...

Re: Glad to be here!

Yep, I skydive. I've been jumping since Oct, 2001. Since starting a family I've significantly reduced how many times I get out. Just under 500 total jumps now, so yeah, I guess I'm a skydiver. :)

Re: WTB AK74 split.AK 47 vs 74

In Sunday's paper (2/20), the AK folder is $439 with 4 mags and a cleaning kit. The stocked version is 399 with 2 mags. I know the WASRs aren't top quality, but those are pretty good prices from what I've seen. Sure, you mostly get what you pay for, but I don't think you buy a dirt cheap AK for accu...

Glad to be here!

Just registered. Glad to find this site for local enthusiasts. I'm a first generation gun owner and happy to be celebrating my 2nd amendment rights. I'm not a hunter, but am an avid target shooter, though I don't go enough. Nor does there appear to be sufficient places to do anything beyond the 50' ...
