Re: New .308

How did the ring lapping go? I tried it out for the first time with a wheeler kit, just wondering how it went for you. Nice looking rig! I still have yet to break in my new .308, hope to soon! Ring lapping went good. I only got about 50% of the finish removed. I still have a TPS steel base on order...

Re: New .308

Yeah I'm not letting them groups get me down. Sub MOA from the first time I shot the rifle for groups with my first load, using the starting powder weights... I'm fine with that. Like I said, next up is the ladder test. I'll find out what it likes then. I also have some different weight bullets too....

New .308

I finally took my new toy out to play yesterday. This is a Remington SPS Tactical in .308. I’ve had it sitting around here for a while, but have been waiting for rings forever it seems! I have big future plans for this rifle but for now, I just want to get out and start shooting it! So far it’s pret...

Re: Has anyone had to wait for an FFL transfer?

I have picked up two guns from FFL the day they arrived. There is no reason not to be able to pick them up they day they arrive. The paperwork does not take that long. I can see if it's a very busy gun shop that has to deal with customers all day long. They may not even get their delivery until mid...

Re: Has anyone had to wait for an FFL transfer?

I'm a small time, home based dealer. When a gun comes in for me, I open the box, check to make sure it's unloaded, record the serial number, type, make, caliber etc... In my bound book, then it's ready to be picked up. There's not much time to get it ready for pick up. Less than 5 minutes. I pride m...

Re: Stainless pin tumbling

Instill haven't decided if I like the SS pin method of wet tumbling, better than the fast easy vibratory tumbling method though... There is a difference for sure... Just not sure that I care that much about über polished brass inside and out. I'll use the wet method until I get sick of rinsing and d...

Re: Stainless pin tumbling

Scratch, cool rig. Aside from time, what did your set-up cost? Well I already had the metal, the cord the switch, and I'm not sure how much or even if I paid for the motor, so the only thing I know I paid for in this project was the cooler and a some Teflon tape, which came to about 7 bucks. (the c...

What I really want to know is how much time you spent on the sound track...

That's the most important part! You of all people should know the importance of a good, quality, sound system.

Re: Stainless pin tumbling

I may have gotten it there.... Now that you mention it, it does jog a nerve deep down in my memory storage area...

Although it had to be at least 5 years ago, so I'm sure if I did get it at one of their locations... I'm sure they probably don't have another one just like it.
