Re: Cabela's annual NRA weekend(s) coming up...

Never heard of a 1911 that didn't feed 230gr FMJ. .. maybe start with that. Just returned from wally world, and other than the expected horrible purchase experience, I did pick up the last two WWB .45 230gr FMJ at $36/box of 100. Not bad! Still deciding if it was worth it, but I can now go to the r...

Re: Cabela's annual NRA weekend(s) coming up...

McCormick is the other manufacturer that has come up in all my research. The only one more common was Wilson. I've already ordered a couple Wilson, so I guess I'll grab a couple McCormick as well. I have a feeling that 1911 and I are going to get along swimmingly! Just returned from wally world. It'...

Re: Cabela's annual NRA weekend(s) coming up...

I have actually already ordered up a couple Wilson 47D's. I'll also grab a couple of the ETMs as well. The only negative things I have come across regarding this gun are the magazines it ships with can be problematic.

Heading out to buy some 230gr FMJ range ammo now. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Cabela's annual NRA weekend(s) coming up...

Sweet! Gotta love 100% American made Ruger 1911 goodness! The build tolerances and overall aesthetics are amazing! I have yet to get it to the range (tomorrow) but everything I have read, Ruger has produced a 1911 that will rival 1911's that cost hundreds more. Can't wait to get some .45's down ran...

Re: Cabela's annual NRA weekend(s) coming up...

I wanted to follow up with the deals at the Cabela's NRA weekend. I just returned, and unfortunately they didn't have the same 10% deal as last year. Too bad, as I spent quite a bit today. In fact, the only fairly decent deal I saw was NRA members could buy a case of Federal target load 12 gauge at ...

Re: Free Streamlight stinger flashlight

Well holy crap, just looked through that box, you know the one with all the old cords. Everybody has one right? found a Streamlight power supply cord. Apparently I drunkenly bought a cord without a charger. I've never done anything "drunkenly"!! <Looks at wife, then kids>, well, alm...

Re: WTColt 45ACP Mags with correct markings REDUCED!!$50.

This may sound like a stupid question to many of you... but I am new to the 1911 game. Picking up my first one Saturday. From what I gather, so many 1911 parts such as mags and grips are interchangeable among different manufacturers, as long as it's a "standard" 1911. Do you know if these ...

Re: Cabela's annual NRA weekend(s) coming up...

i was just checking out Cabela's website to see if they had any updates, such as the 10% off deal they had last year. Anyone heard anything? I've been waiting to make a purchase that will come to about $1k hoping the same 10% deal would happen. Anyway, while looking around the site, I came across th...

Re: .22LR deal

Sounds like a decent deal, and true times have changed, but every once in awhile... I happened to be at Fleet Farm about 4-5 months ago and they had the same stuff for $11.99/brick! I literally filled up the shopping cart and months as well as thousands of rounds later I still have a shelf full of b...

Re: WTBorrow a Ruger LC9

I have one you can borrow. It was serviced by Ruger a few months back and now works flawlessly. I really want to love it, and I almost do, but I hate the trigger pull on it. Thinking of getting trigger work done on it. Good idea to try this one out a few times before buying. I'm in South mpls, and c...

Re: Federal Cartridge job Openings

Any high level IT positions? How about 20+ years as an IT professional? Servers, networking, custom software/scripting/database administration, you name it. Six figures though ;) This is just my impression, but the IT at ATK corporate is kinda screwy... My experience is that IT is pretty screwy eve...

Re: WTB (buy to borrow) A tool to site in scopes

Not to be a jerk but if you sent it in to be sighted in, they did nothing other than that, the accuracy of the rifle and the consistency of the optic already existed. Not being a jerk at all. This is one area I just don't have that much experience with and from the comments and PM's I've learned th...

Re: WTB (buy to borrow) A tool to site in scopes

Sighting in tool would be a box of ammo and a paper target. Hard to get cheaper than that. True, that's the way i've always done it, then I bought a new rifle a year or so ago and they sent it in back to sight in the scope I also bought. That thing was so damn accurate it was amazing. More than jus...

WTB (buy to borrow) A tool to site in scopes

Hello all, I am looking for a proper tool that can be used to site in rifle scopes. Trial and error is getting a bit old. If you have something to sell, great, if you have a really nice tool (keep the jokes to yourself) and can help me sight in a basic scope on a Ruger 10/22 I would appreciate the h...
