Re: Smith and Wesson M&P15...

Colt is over rated and over priced. Colts are junk IMHO. Colt just LOST the military contract to Remington AKA Bushmaster and or DPMS. Contracts go to the lowest bidder. Nothing more. However owning and following the TDP for decades means something. Following a TDP for years means that there is no ...

Re: Smith and Wesson M&P15...

Not interested in Colt... cousin had one fail him in Iraq and was almost killed because of it. Also mil-spec is so over rated. Not really interested in building at the moment. Just want to have one in the inventory just in case... Sent from my DROIDX So you're comparing a rifle that's probably been...

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

I love 21CG's setup. But only for a SHTF / game gun.

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

There was also a Mpls SWAT member, just recently, that got into a bar fight. The SWAT member struck first with a punch, knowing the other guy who started the fight (verbally) was about to swing. The SWAT member hit the guy so hard he fell back. Not only did he fall back but he hit his head on the co...

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

While they are, for the purposes of this discussion, anecdotal, one might learn from 2 of the more notorious defensive gun uses we know of: The Zimmerman case The Lake St Cub Foods/ Rainbow shooting... How would the optics mentioned(or any sight) have worked in those incidents? In those cases the v...

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

No, gunfights are not all the same. If you think the equipment need or weapon deployment for a permit holder and a soldier in a combat zone are the same, then there is no point in us discussing the topic. That isn't what I meant... I should have been more clear. When I say a gunfight is a gunfight ...

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

Did I not just say pick your battles? As in, pick what ever makes sense to you?

You guys take my logic past the extent of reasonable, you're taking it to where it's ridiculous. When it's, in fact, not what I said.

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

It could be. Which is why it' would be wise for one to choose their battles. Which is why everyone doesn't carry their race guns for defense.

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

Paul, you're right. Either it's justified or not. But when you're judged by 12 conservatives who have never touched a gun, and the prosecutor says, " This is a military style weapon that civilians shouldn't be using. " that could be the difference between justified or not. Just because the...

Re: Input on red dot vs holographic for Personal Carry

Think about what a prosecutor could do in a case where you had to use your carry handgun with an optic.

WTT Aimpoint Comp M4s

Looking to trade my Aimpoint for another firearm. Will consider, Sig P226s (preferably Mk25, Blackwater), .308s, 1911s, M&P (shield or 4.25" must have safety), Springfield XDs, maybe something else I haven't thought of. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj48/twoo662/guns/887061...

Re: Buying an ar15 upper

IIRC 1/9 is best for accuracy with all types of ammo. Most accurate, with what I've been told,is with .223 chamber. But you should not use 5.56 ammo in .223 chambers, limiting your ammo choices. All the AR's I do/have owned were chambered for 5.56,not .223.I do have a full length heavy barrel, mid length...
