Re: Long Range (Minimum 100 yards) shooting ranges near Mpls

Gopher Rifle and Revolver has a 50, 100, 150, and 200 yard general purpose range, and a rifle range with shooting benches located at 600 and 1000 yards. They also have a black powder, pistol and trap ranges. It's located just off 35W in Harris MN, just past North Branch, about 30 mins north of Bill...

Re: lookin' for SOFT recoil pad AR

By far the best thing you can do is get an adjustable gas block. After that a brake or compensator. I agree the A5 will help (I have one) but depending on the gas system, you may need one of Vltors other buffers, etc. With an adjustable gas block, you only need to tune it once without any extra part...

Re: 10 P-mags $100

Good deal. I bet they're trying to make room for the new M3 PMags. I'm not convinced enough to search out the new M3s yet. Old PMags worked just fine.

Re: Two-Hour Simulated Navy SEAL Mission

You guys are both right. You can not have any experience, go into a course with a full size .22lr and have zero problems getting it. You may also be able to get by with that experience level if a grandma attacks you. Nobody really knows me on here but I'm sure it reflects in mg posts. I'd rather be ...

Re: Two-Hour Simulated Navy SEAL Mission

I listened to Larry when he was on KFAN, right around the time that Navy Seal movie came out. I think it is still Podcastable. Very awsome I have been thinking of taking some of his classes once i get my PTC in October. Full disclosure: I am a current student at SM. IMHO, it will be more of a benef...

Re: Department of Homeland Security expecting election violence?

All of the gear in that order was protective. If there was offensive gear in there, I might think of it differently.

But if ~150 police/guards want to protect themselves, go for it. My first thought was "Only 150?"

Re: Go Sealed Mindset!

Nope. Neither did you, and neither did they. I do know that there were some pleas to have the posts dleted by the author for the reasons I'm commenting about, but hey. Why bring that into this, right? So to that end we will have to agree to disagree, since we both know we're right. So...

Re: Go Sealed Mindset!

Simply put. TRAIN,TRAIN,TRAIN! Any training that can be done, all the better. It's better to have a fighting chance, then no chance at all. I think some people are just born to be either a "Fight" type or a "Flight" type. Honestly, we need more peole in this world willing to be ...

Re: Go Sealed Mindset!

It would be nice if more people were prepared. However, as I mentioned, I think there would still be many a panicked sheep regardless of what self help courses they took beforehand. It's a natural reaction to hit flight mode and think dear god (or whatever diety you beleive in) this can't be happen...

Re: Go Sealed Mindset!

horribly written, and dubious potential. more likely to give some idiot delusions of grandeur, a hero complex, in a bad situation and get more people killed. sorry, but civilians are not going to react well to a situation like that, and having one simple ''seal taught'' course isn't going to change...

Re: 1911 gun painting

Look up DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating. That finish is damn near invincible and from what I've heard if done right allows a gun to be shot dry. The problem is finding a place that will do it on a firearm. That's because DLC coatings were designed for F1 engines. Should work great on a firearm. T...
