Re: Lubing 223

Wow. Thanks for all the friendly offers to help me with this little issue. I ordered the kit so I'll get it out myself in a couple of days or so. But again, Bigdog Sigfan and Rip van Winkle, much appreciated.

Re: Lubing 223

I get my cases nice and greasy with Imperial Die Wax which has worked for me thousands of times without ever getting a case stuck. Yesterday this winning streak came to a miserable end. Piece of 220 Swift brass stuck in RCBS FL resizing die. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg210/belgi...

Re: Blast from the past for the Gunstop Old Timers

This is for those of you that used to visit the Gunstop in Excelsior 20 years ago or more, and if you remember there was an old fart's club that had a circle of chairs in the back and would sit there and BS. There was no internet, so you had to RTFM to get anywhere, so the number of clueless n00bs ...

Re: Awesome deal

Nice rifle indeed. It should have been out in the woods the last two weeks. Was the barrel always that length or was it shortened?

Re: Awesome deal

Thanks for the education, I have one that I purchased in the mid 70's, (30/06) it is in the safe I haven't looked at it in years, your post has "Tweaked" my curiosity, I will have to dig it out. I do remember mine as having a short barrel, & very light weight, I remember it being very...

I'm thinking 50 gr V-max at 4000 fps. Imagine what that does to a turkey vulture.

Re: Awesome deal

I had that rifle in my hands to buy it and put it back on shelf... not sure why. I have been thinking about it since Monday, guess I can stop. Nice gun. Thanks for the kind words everyone. I knew that I had to move fast on this one. It was on the wall in Arnzen Arms and according to Mike it came fr...

Re: Beretta Storm issue

I carry the px4 compact and it has eaten everything I've fed it, including some very dirty chicom 9 mm that smelled like manure. Never a hiccup. I always thought of these pistols as under appreciated compared to the Glocks, the M&P 9's and the XD's. Its a rotating barrel system which works like ...

Re: What do you hunt?

Upland birds and ducks. Don't know if that counts as hunting but shooting prairie dogs is as much fun as you can possibly have with your pants on. I mean that.

Re: Barnes reloading manual load data?

Sierra lists RE15 as the powder for accuracy with their 168 MK. Hornady doesn't even mention BL-C(2) and thinks N550 is da shizzle. Different manual, different testing conditions, different powder. But we're just yanking your chain. And for your information, Fleet Farm in Lakeville had TAC and A2520...

BL-C(2)... Is that even considered a smokeless powder? :stirthepot: :stirthepot:

Re: Barnes reloading manual load data?

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg210/belgiboy/2308031_zpsac748b1c.jpg I've used TAC when I was working up a load for my .223 bolt gun. It shot pretty well actually but was trumped by H322 in the end. And Yes, I've seen some outlandish speed ratings for that CFE223 powder too. My...
