Re: yeay or neigh......

Nay.

Neglected single shot guns. Maybe worth $50-$75. If they work.

If they had some personal meaning (meaning they were my grandfather's guns) I wouldn't sell, but as they are way removed from you, buying a used pump makes more sense for most any practical use.

Re: Strib hit piece re. Eagles and Lead

I agree its very incomplete information. From my old biology days, as far as I remember, while eagles will eat anything they can find, their preferred food is fish. It's been a while since I fished seriously, but then I remember pretty much every lure I used had some lead in it. Add sinkers and boat...

Re: Question on M118LR

I think all the military stuff uses the harder CCI milspec type primer. The idea is to prevent slam fires in full auto. It (milsurp ammo) occasionally has caused trouble in my JP rifle set up for 3 gun, but in anything that is milspec/factory I have not had issues, but then I don't tinker with AR tr...

Re: S&W 500

Listen to Sam. You know better than to listen to that garbage on the net.... If you want light loads in a .500, get a different gun. Its a big bore hunting gun, use it for what it is. Really, you can go to slower powders and the amount needed to get to dangerous velocities will be more than the case...

Re: Making my own 460 Rowland...Can I rechamber a 45?

Why don't you ask the barrel manufacturer? When I did some rifle work, thinking about a wildcat cartridge the guys who made the barrels were more than happy to discuss specs and wildcat ideas. Tell the manufacturer what you want to do, and see if they agree. If they don't or "don't know" l...

Re: NYC Gun Charges Dropped. Now I Can Speak Out.

Been to NYC a few times. I even traveled and got off there on a trip back from hunting overseas, and stopped and visited my brother in CT. The end of the trip was somewhat humorous with their reaction to the big bore hunting ammo in my luggage, but if you know the rules and are obeying them and when...

Re: Beretta 92 and crimped reloaded ammo

Could also be "Don't reload star crimped blank ammo"

Who knows. It probably lost something in the translation from Italian.

Re: Reloading practice ammo with wax bullets

Actually, I thought the purpose of the 209 modified cases was pretty good, and not for getting more velocity- The ones I used didn't back out either. Be able to reload the cases, ie reprime, with your fingers. 6 of these cases, a sheet of wax, and a tray or two of shotgun primers, a pencil and you a...

Re: 1911 / Hollow Points?

I probably don't have all that much experience with the 230 grain factory load, but I shoot a lot of 185 JHP in a Kimber for competitive use. What I would be more concerned about is reliability. If your gun (specifically) is reliable in feeding a JHP round, then it is good. The JHP is no harder on t...

Re: .327 Fed Mag brass

I've seen them look like that with a safe load in 2 instances. One is excessive headspace, the other is what you have been describing- a loose primer pocket. If I were you, I would contact Federal before I used that lot of brass again. In any case, until you get it sorted out, I would not be using t...

Re: Anyone familiar with the 6.8 SPC

I have a Barret AR in 6.8. One of the most accurate AR's I have ever shot. The caliber is good for deer and feral hogs, especially with an accubond bullet. Reloading is really pretty straightforward with it. The only real issue is which of the chamberings you have it in. They made a modified chamber...

Re: Roll Sizing

I have the case pro. It's really a lot faster to use that the push through the die sizing dies, and you can use it with rimmed and semi rimmed cases with no problems if you have the right plates. I think it works about as well as the push throughs, although it has some degree of brass rebound to it....

Re: backpacks

I just use a simple small LL Bean day pack. If I can't get it in there, I don't need it. I have hunted with guides that use a full frame pack and carry enough to equip the 2nd armored for a week. My advice is to stick with the small pack you are using unless you are backpack hunting. With a space bl...

Re: Thinking about a 1911 in 38 super.

I can't say about the Springfield, but the Colt and the Kimber are the same frame regardless of caliber. I have a 9mm/38 super and a 9mm/38 super/9x23 from the factory from colt. It was just a barrel swap that came in the kit. The biggest issue was getting mags that ran all of the above smoothly. Th...
