Re: How much does 500 cases weigh 9mm & .40 SGW

I assume empty brass only

Just under 5 pounds for 40
just under 4 1/2 pounds for 9 mm

Easy is to get the one rate postal box and throw them in there to ship. (weight is immaterial if you get it in the box...)

Re: ***** factory ammo for .30-06?

30-06 is just a lot of gun. People mistake it for being benign. It isn't. Too much for most people to shoot. Huh? .30-06? Are you kidding me? I know under 100# women who shoot .375 H&H regularly. In any case, I doubt the problem is the cartridge. Recoil's intolerabilty is the summation of sever...

Re: Is there any clubs up by Duluth that are doing USPSA?

Northwest gun club has a really nice range. Considerable distance for rifle, bays for pistol. I think they even have some heated firing points for use in the winter, although I've never been there in the cold. They have lakefront property where the clubhouse is. All in all a really nice place. Unfor...

Re: Driving with full magazine

For air travel, loaded magazines are a no-no. That's not what this guy says: http://www.gunreports.com/special_reports/handguns/batfe-Rules-Under-Gun-Control-Act837-1.html Firearm magazines/clips do not satisfy the packaging requirement unless they provide a complete and secure enclosure of the amm...

Re: Firearms and InFlation

Depends on what you are talking about. Collector grade guns will continue to appreciate. Class III will continue to appreciate. Guns that get banned by the government from further import/manufacture will appreciate. Most hunting guns and plinkers will depreciate, some drastically as the middle class...

Re: Driving with full magazine

I think the legal requirement for transporting a firearm in a car without a carry permit is that it must be cased and not in reach of the occupants of the vehicle while moving. I think that's a national requirement, as that was in the information I got from the folks that did my travel through NYC w...

Re: First experience w/ guns, & does it affect your choices now

Started out with a 20 ga semiauto at age 13 for hunting ducks with my dad and grandpa, stayed with just waterfowl hunting until 24, then moved out from there. Brought my first handgun as a self defense piece and reading gun mags, decided to get in to practical pistol competition. Enjoyed the folks e...

Re: A forum bird hunt ?

You name the time, I'm game!

Hunny probably would enjoy the exercise, but she can't go to fast or far with her arthritis.

She did love the goose hunting- sit in the sun, and sleep. Something fatlabs are very good at (and their fat owners, too for that matter...) ;)

Re: A forum bird hunt ?

Sounds like fun.

Since my lab is so old, I don't do the bird thing as much as I used to.

Re: New Shotshells

OK, I give up, are the hulls hot pink, or is it just the box?

Odd colored hulls, maybe I will buy some, use that to sort out specialty loads.

Pink box, no need for that for me, but the Breast CA awareness thing is a nice touch for the female shooters.

Re: are winchester sp primers harder than most?

My experience is that CCI are the hardest, then Winchester, then remington, and federal are the softest for ignition in pistol rounds. The fact that you had no problem with Wolf before, which in my book is, along with Magtech, the most unreliable primer available to the US consumer, to me says that ...

Re: Best 12 gauge slug rounds

Two things from my perspective. First, I completely agree that each slug is its own entity as far as saboted slugs go. In fact, I will go a step further and say you can have "issues" from lot to lot. I had a lot of the old 2 3/4 Winchester supreme sabotted slugs that were 385gr 1900 FPS. M...

Re: how much ammo

Enough for a basic combat load for an infantry company, if not all the same caliber. I don't believe in having too much loaded at one time, I do have reloading components for more than that around also...
