Re: SAF members now eligible for CA non-resident carry

Given that I am not going to CA (except through an airport, I have never been there) it really is a meaningless win to me.

That's not to say its not important, but it is of no added value to me.

Re: Two truckers file lawsuit to carry guns across state lines

Face it, the argument is that travel is a right and that one state’s legal permits should be recognized through the union like drivers licenses are. It’s a reasonable argument. That they are driving for a living is an attempt to connect it to interstate commerce, although I don’t quite see how the c...

Re: Two truckers file lawsuit to carry guns across state lines

Personally, I think MN is less of an issue than some others. We do recognize some others more or less.

IL, NY, NJ are bigger fish.

Hawaii would be interesting as well.

Their claim that the 2A doesn’t apply to them really deserves a severe SCOTUS and congressional slap down.

Re: Old Leupold scope repair?

Leupold supposedly has forever warranty.

Get a hold of them. They will either fix or replace it I bet.

Re: Riddle me this- upper fires on one lower but not another.

Too much lube/clp on the firing pin- gels when cold?

That cost me a nice deer this year.

Re: Pistol grip options

If the cash outlay for the grips is too steep, I’d just bite the bullet and buy a new gun. The Beretta 92 series is a full size service pistol. (You said it’s close enough)- and thus you probably would be better off getting a new smaller all around gun for regular carry. Besides, at least in my expe...

Re: Abolish the ATF

I don’t think we should abolish the ATF. They do serve a legitimate purpose. What is needed is to remove the redundant parts of the federal bureaucracy and keep the agencies limited to their congressionally appointed functions. As to the bureaucrats… while it may annoy folks, it probably would be ch...

Re: FL SHOOTS LEGALLY armed motorist - OFFICER SAFETY

I did not watch the video. But police shooting Americans happens often enough that it is like we do not actually have a 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. All police officers receive enough training that ensures they would not have negligent discharges if they actually gave a damn about what they we...

Re: Trump promised to sign national reciprocity

One big fly in the ointment is that each state has its own laws for self defense. Self defense in Texas is very different than self defense in Massachusetts. You need to be understanding of what the rules are in each jurisdiction. My MN CCW gun is not legal in some states due to the laws there, or m...

Re: KYL & Ethical hunter Challenge from Erik Cortina

To win the money you need to make what, 6-7 consecutive shots of a sub 1/2 MOA target at 500 yards. I think more than a few folks could do it in a tunnel without wind at all. In a cow pasture in Texas? I doubt anyone can do so repeatedly- as in make his clean run 2 out of 3 tries. Wind judgement is ...

Re: Election Results

The issue isn’t that folks aren’t going to acknowledge that Trump has warts or is boorish. It’s that they thought Biden, and then his selected surrogate Harris were worse. Your point that Trump has flaws is accurate and I think most here would acknowledge that. The problem is your posting gives the ...

Re: The Bell Tolls for the FBI

I still feel the rank and file FBI agents are mostly apolitical and care about the job. The guys in the centralized parts I have less faith in… certainly the last 16 years or so the FBI has been involved in some politically motivated investigations. I have no faith in the leadership in the Hoover bu...

Re: Election Results

Technically they said he was liable for damages claimed from sexual assault. Yes, but a judge also said Trump is a rapist. Good enough for me. https://newrepublic.com/post/174448/judge-e-jean-carroll-case-yes-donald-trump-rapist But Judge Lewis Kaplan called Trump’s semantic argument “entirely unpe...

Re: Election Results

Technically they said he was liable for damages claimed from sexual assault. A civil court can’t label you as guilty of a crime, only assess you for damages and the burden of proof is dramatically reduced. But yeah, a reality TV star and a TV clown rising to positions of power in their respective co...

Re: Deer season 2024

Coulda shoulda woulda…

Relearned delube your hunting gun. Had click instead of bang on a really nice 8 pointer. CLP does gunk up when there is a lot of it and it’s in the high 30’s.

Hope others had better luck than I did. Sat every day of firearms deer, had my one chance and blew it…
