Re: Fleet Farm inventory reports

I stopped in the Brooklyn Park FF on the way home today. There was some .45 and .38, no 9mm and no .40. There were a couple of unconverted Saigas, some Vepr, and no Huldra rifles or uppers. 5.45 is still over $200 per spam tin. There was some .22 LR in small boxes - Federal, I think.

Re: Holder: Drone attacks against Americans in US a possibility

Its a trial balloon statement to test the public reaction to it. These guys will roll this out in small incremental steps as they know that even some of their supporters have raised an eye at some of the big brother stuff. They already are using drones for all kinds of surveillance of U.S. citizens...

Re: Obama DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Tanks to Go With The

Planning to sell one to the Mankato Police Dept? That seems to be what happens to a lot of the stuff the government orders. I'm guessing someone in congress decided to pocket a bribe, and make some work for the big companies in their district.

Re: Tactical Walls

A magnet or latch would be pretty easy to incorporate. I'm going to keep that in mind if I ever need to redo the drywall in a room.

Re: Bow and arrow, or gun?

Didn't the Dukes of Hazzard perfect the dynamite arrow? Seems to me that would put any piddly 'bullet arrow' to shame.

Re: Why gun science is such a murky topic

These sorts of problems aren't restricted to firearms. One of my other hobbies (passion, really) is riding motorcycles. When I started riding in the late '70's, the only definitive research done on rider safety had been done by a guy named Harry Hurt (funny, I know). Basically, Dr. Hurt complied dat...

Re: Fleet Farm inventory reports

Was there this morning to pick up some snowmobile dollies so I can push my Ural around the garage. I stopped by the firearms counter and: they had some boxes of Blazer 22 LR, that were being whittled down as I watched. There was no 9MM, a few .45 & .40 boxes, and no .380. I also noticed that the...

Re: Is the panic over?

I managed to get 3 additional mags for my AK-74 from AIM Surplus. Two circle-10's and one circle-21. At least I can get magazines again.

Re: Something to think about

There is something a bit exclusive about the shooting culture these days. When I bought my first handgun back in the 1980's, I ran into a lot of gun store clerks that were very standoffish and treated me as if I was wearing a hidden microphone for the ATF. I was a young dude with long hair, so I mig...

Re: Newtown dad 'explains' 2A to politicians

I agree with the passion, but what he said about legislation and the constitution was the equivalent of 'clip vs magazine'. At least he showed up in a suit & tie, though. I'm sure our fashion consultant will like that. Sorry. I was riffing on the Channel 11 thread. If you want to be treated lik...

Re: Channel 11 tonight

If you're on TV, figure you have about 30 seconds total to make a point, and make each point deliverable in 5 seconds or less. Long-winded explanations about issues won't work, and are better suited to the print media. And it's TV, so appearance is everything. For god's sake, wear a suit and a tie, ...

Re: Serious questions from gun owner re registration, other laws

To talk about this push for gun control and gun elimination in terms of 'preventing death' or 'preventing violence' is itself a red herring. If anyone in society wanted to truly make an impact by reducing deaths in the US then looking at violence, murder or guns is simply the wrong place to focus. ...

Re: A Warning To You All

I guess you can not read then. The original post made statements of gay marriage. My question is what does that have to do with gun control? I guess I can't read either then, because I don't see what you are talking about in the OP. The OP was about the anti's and their true intentions. BB "Li...

Re: Serious questions from gun owner re registration, other laws

Why not do some research to find out what would be effective solutions before we make a lot of changes to the law? We repeal the law that prevents the CDC and academics from researching gun violence and prevention, and let people do peer-reviewed data for 5 years before we start making restrictions....
