I do not take it personally… I don't own a .308. I'm simply asking why. Why would one buy souch a caliber.

If a brown bear is charging me I want a bullet that has the construction to penetrate the animal. After that there is no difference.

So there is absolutely no reason to use a 300gr that falls out of the sky past 200yrds? Just a desire to spend 2twice as much on brass….

Why would I ever need to? That 168gr does ok on a hog.

This 45 Raptor does not compare to the 50BMG and 338 Lapua. With a built like that I suspect you get a fairly low BC. I get people get excited about a 300gr bullet but within that calibers range will things be more or less dead than with a 308 win.

What will this do that a .308 WIN will not?

But it's a large frame cartridge…. Hard to really compare.
