Re: Stainless Winter Lube

Stainless will gall at all temperature and is more prone the hotter it gets. In my experience any "wet" lube oil or grease will help significantly over using nothing. A bit of info from a site addressing stainless fasteners. "2. Lubricating the internal and/or external threads frequen...

Re: Hey S. Sam!

I shot about 4K rounds through my XDm with them this year and there's no pitting, but I do use the Feds which are a little softer than soe other brands. I did do some digging on Enos and while there are dozens of threads about using them without any issues, I can't find anything on pitting the brea...

Re: Hey S. Sam!

I actually use Magnum small pistol primers today in my powder puff .40 loads. With the low case fill density of 3.0 gr of clays I get a lower SD than when using std primers with no pressure signs. Avg velocity went up a whopping 6FPS. As a bonus you can almost always find them and in a pinch you ca...

Re: Which .308 Bolt Action Rifle??

Get a savage, I am very happy with mine. Here is a target from last weekend. Both these rifles are new, less then 100 rounds through either. You can pick up a savage 10 with accu-trigger for less then $700. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8204/8241584000_37568a0e39.jpg 5 shots at 100 y...

Re: And from SS's Little Shop of Horrors...

OK, so who is trolling Seismic by #$%ing up casings to this extent and seeding the range with them so he'll find them? ;) ;) I can maybe see with a progressive how you might just dump a bunch of rounds from the bin into a container, but how can you screw a round up this bad and not notice it when y...

Might want to get that looked at and start using a rubber glove so you do not spread what ever you caught.

Re: Anyone looking for a LOT of 5.56 brass

I have watched several of these auctions go. They never go dirt cheap, in fact they tend to get up to just shy of scrap brass price to just a bit over. The smaller lots seem to fetch higher prices because more people can afford them and haul them.

Re: Anyone ordering primers

Order from these guys http://www.recobstargetshop.com/ they are over in Wisconsin. They will ship to MN via Speedy delivery and that is only a $15 hazmat and a small amount for shipping. My last order with them was over $800 and I think total shipping and hazmat came to $28.

Re: wouldn't buying this be constructive intent?

I talked to Chris over at ASA, he said he didn't know and would ask his friend who holds the patents. You would think since the ASA adapter is considered a suppressor, that this bolt would be too, hence illegal in MN. Can a FFL even make them here, even if they are to be sold only to people in stat...

Re: Building my first bolt gun.

I planning to order this week, so I can let you know. But I am not sure how valuable my opinion on scopes is. I am running a couple of these $70 Walmart specials on a few rifles and they work. They get blurry at 16X but I still use it. I also have not got any serious testing in on the scopes. The la...

Re: Building my first bolt gun.

What would yall recommend for an optic on this gun? I am looking at the Vortex Viper PST in 4-16x50. This gun will primarily be used for coyotes and deer. Is the PST worth the extra money or is the Vortex HS series a reasonable optic? I have not used one but I am ordering one of these for my new va...

Re: Gun shop robbed multiple times

If the bars on the windows are spaced wide enough for someone to get through they are poorly designed and I bet someone cut cost when they had them made. When I have made window bars it is to keep people out, not slow them down. If you look at the ones at Atomic Tactical there is no way a person can...

Re: Building my first bolt gun.

One other barrel company to consider, as I have a couple friends using them and nothing but great things to say is Criterion barrels. http://criterionbarrels.com/ Since others are weighing in on there likes Brass - Lapua Sizing Die - Forster Bench Rest FL Sizer - I get the lowest neck runouts from t...
