Re: I want to get started in reloading. What to get?

There are many things in a persons reloading experience that they think is pinnacle of equipment. And, the LEE FCD is not it. It is an answer to a question that never needed answering. As are many doo dads! Opinions abound! The one thing that was never mentioned. A person needs a solid bench to moun...

Re: I want to get started in reloading. What to get?

The Lyman Turret press has a lot of flex in the head., more then RCBS Turret Press, and it nowhere near the quality of the Redding T7. While perhaps not a big deal for reloading most handgun rounds, it can be down the road if you get into sizing larger cases. Or if you want to ger picky with using f...

Re: A ballpark figure to reload .338 Lapua

I do not post much. I just read and learn, or rather obvserve. And, this is my take. Reloading can be made hard by some know it all types who really want to baffle people with BS under the cover of self-aggrandizing. A person does not need fancy dies, run out gages, headspace gages, or host of other...

Re: 284 cal.

284 Brass is not easy to find the guy at the Gunstop said it is seasonal run brass, and he has not seen any since Xmas. You may have to end up necking up 6.5x284 brass.

Re: .45 AR Brass

You do not need to roll crimp the 45 Auto Rim round. A taper crim works just fine, good enough for the 45ACP good enough for the Auto Rim. Remington and Starline Brass are both good to go. There was some PMC floating around about 5 years ago...that was some thicker rimmed brass and the case wall was...

Re: What is the FASTEST way to pull bullets?

Depending on the shape of the bullet, a collet bulet puller may not have the bearing surface to latch onto to work.

Re: Rifle primers in .44 mag?

You do reallize that the cup of the Large Rifle is taller then the Large Pistol Primer? So, may be having ignition problems unless you permantly deepen prmer pocket. They are not interchangeable like that of the Small Pistol Primer and Small Rifle Primer as common for some of the high pressure handg...

Re: Resizing lubricant

Another thought for case lube is Ballistol. But, Imperial Die Wax is a great choice.

Re: Reloading .223 1 in 9" twist- I'm getting twisted

The 69gr OTM bullet should not be questionable in 1/9 twist at all. And, with the bbl length you ought to be able to drive 80gr bullet fast enough to stabilize.
The 69gr OTM with a charge of Varget should be a one hole shooting machine in the neighborhood of 25gr.
