The start of the fugly budget ar build

If you are doing a .300blk pistol and want to do it on a budget, check out http://www.classicfirearms.com I have two of their barrels that are made by someone else. I believe it is Bear Creek Arsenal. I have a 18" heavy fluted .223 Wylde and a 7.5" .300blk barrel by them. The barrels are t...

Looking for a new Trap gun.

I used to have a dedicated trap shotgun, times got a little tough and I sold it off. I immediately regretted doing it, but now I am happy I did. I now shoot trap with my hunting shotgun, a 24" Winchester SX2 in Shadowgrass. I have shot many rounds in the 20's with it. Some guys at the local clu...

Frog Lube Question

I use Froglube and have been for about a year. I have the paste and liquid. Both do the exact same thing. I heat treated most of my weapons with the paste then applied the liquid to it. It tends to give off a funnier smell once it burns a little, mainly in an AR. I've never had a bad experience with...

Bad day at the range yesterday!

That is a terrible thing to see happen to that firearm, I'm glad you're safe.

I've personally handled and shot that exact pistol, it is a dang shame to see such a functional piece of art be blown up like that. I sure hope everything gets sorted out.

Seriously is .223 a good Predator Hunting caliber?

I solely use .223 for all varmint hunting. I tend to prefer bolt guns, but I do use an AR sometimes. I've got an M77 and 700, both in .223 and they outshoot my AR's all day long.

Good glass is key, which sounds like beating a dead horse. Maybe that's what this thread is about ;)

A little stipple?

That looks amazing. I tried it on a frame once, turned out decent but not great. I had my EDC 19 stippled by Ehren at Atomic and he did an outstanding job. I couldn't find a flaw in it at all. It's a great option for certain types of carry. I now carry appendix, so it works great when wearing unders...

Citadel 1911 A1 in 9mm

Lots of it comes from the Czech Republic. The ammo tends to not work in my G17 and G34 with lighter striker springs. The primers on them are very hard. Seems almost as if S&B ammo is the exact same. Ammo is relatively clean for foreign stuff, but tough primers steer me away. Work great in my fac...

revolver/woods=holster

Once you get it, please let me know how you like it. I have been looking for a good shoulder holster for my 629 and came across their website, seemed interesting.

WTT Glock 17rd 9mm mags

I have two GEN 3 Glock 17 mags I would like to trade for GEN 4 mags. I am a wrong handed shooter and have switched my mag release on all my 17's and my 34, thus needing the gen 4 magazine cut. These two mags are in excellent condition. I figured maybe there was a few right handed nice ladies/gentlem...

Range Finders, what are some good ones?

I've got a Nikon Prostaff 5. Works great for what I use it for (a little target practice but mostly hunting). Easy to read and use and packs up decently compact. If you're looking for a really compact LRF, I would recommend a Luepold RX-600i.

Name this Glock part.

It's the third cross pin. This one retains the locking block for added rigidity. Since 1990, all non 9mm Glocks came with this third pin and a larger locking block, now all have them. I wouldn't necessarily recommend firing without the pin, but I'm sure it wouldn't be catastrophic. The pin below it ...

Viridian reactor R5

Be mindful of a green lasers minimum operating temperatures, we are in MN here. It shouldn't really be an issue if you carry it IWB, as your body will keep it warm. But leaving it in ones vehicle in winter would render the laser inoperable until it warms up.
