Re: Matts Firearms lower receiver group purchase

A sad follow-up to this story. I just bought a gun online at Gunbroker and it offered a number of local FFL's. I chose one nearby and it turned out to be Matt's Firearms. I had bought from him three years ago--no more. He's divorced and lives in a modest and [ramshackle] house with his dog. He did n...

Why have sales drifted to Armslist?

Don't mean to offend anyone in asking this. I've not been paying close attention, however it seems like sales on MNGuntalk have really dropped off and Armslist sales have picked up. If that's accurate. why?
Thanks,
GJ

Re: Armslist.com

My guess is that sellers know that there is a sub-class of gun buyers, newbies and casual buyers, who don't know enough about gun values to realize they are overpaying. It's the same thing at gun shows. Did any of you see the prices at last week's gun show at Rivercenter in St. Paul? A used S+W mode...

Re: Well- will more ammo be available now?

Right, standard stuff in black box, 100 rounds. Wish it was cheaper, but that it is there at all is a surprise.

Re: Well- will more ammo be available now?

Was at the Lexington/Circle Pines Wally World today and it had about a dozen boxes of CCI .22lr in the case. $7.45 per box, maximum of three boxes.

Re: Well- will more ammo be available now?

Bought the last 333 box of Winchester .22lr at Wally World yesterday afternoon after reading this blog. The salesperson was standing by the ammo display case. As she opened the case to get the last box, I asked her if .22lr's were in greater supply. She replied that this latest shipment lasted less ...

Box: Federal 45 Colt

Sold the gun and found this 20 round box of hollow point in the safe. $20/Bo or trade for some .22lr.

Re: Unusual find

Didn't mean to cause a commotion among MNGuntalk members. I was looking for any personal insights or experiences with the Detonics. Thanks for the feedback. GJ

Unusual find

Hi All, I just came across a Detonics Pocket Nine from a local seller. In pristine condition. I fired it and it was pretty nice. But, I don't know much about this pistol. There's not much out there on it other than that it was made only a few years. Does anyone own one or know about it?

Re: gun shops in Wisconsin

I stopped into that pawn shop, Valley Pawn,at least 10 times over the past three years. It's always the same with the owner. Things are overpriced and he won't move. And he is pretty grouchy. Guy seems burned out or exhausted by clients. I once brought in a gun to see what he might give me for it. T...

Dresser Gun Show: Outrageous prices

Let me start by saying that I have only attended a half dozen gun shows over the past five years, so my recent experience might be an exception. I attended the Dresser, WI gun show yesterday and was dismayed by the poor quality of handgun manufacturers (mostly lesser quality brands) and their poor c...

Re: looking for .480 Ruger

Well, on that cheery note, I will be sure to order extra rounds. Wish I knew how to reload.

Re: Anyone have this problem?

A quick update on the magazine. I emailed Magnum Research and informed the representative of the problem. He/she replied that no one there had ever heard of this happening. Long story short, they sent out a new magazine at no charge. It is great to work with companies that stand behind their product...

looking for .480 Ruger

Was at Fleet Farm the other day and asked whether they carry .480 Ruger. They don't but could order it for over $100 for a box of 20. Anyone have a source for this ammo?
Thanks,
GJ

Re: Anyone have this problem?

Until it's resolved, I have begun carrying a S+W .38 spl. Like an old-timey camera--just point and shoot.
