Re: Magazine for Browning BAR 30-06

On second thought are you talking about the real BAR or the new hunting rifle?

Re: Bloomington planning commission

Bloomington started this a long time ago with what they call " the pawn shop ordinance" that prohibits the display of used guns for sale. If you have the time and interest search the Bloomington City Code for all the ways they restrict firearms, air guns, archery and similar items.

Re: MN Sup Court..BB gun not firearm

To be clear Bloomington does not outlaw or ban the items, they just prohibit the discharge of said items.

Re: MN Sup Court..BB gun not firearm

Check your local ordinances. Bloomington for example does not allow discharge of anything (except for bows at approved archery range) . No firearms, compressed gases, springs, slingshots, bows, etc within city limits.

Re: New Guns and Gear store coming to Rogers

Only place I have ever stopped to eat in Rogers is the TA truck stop, mainly because I was there to fuel up the truck. Now I stop there if I am in the area because I know what it is. No guessing on price and quality. When G&G opens I will probably stop by again.

Re: Copper vs Lead Bullets for hunting...........

I don't think you are all that cynical, moreso realistic. I think if you check around you will find many studies on the toxicity of copper. And these studies will get wrongly used to go after copper if they are ever successful in banning lead. The other issue that they will try to use if they can ba...

Re: SAAMI .357 Drawing/spec question

The meaning of RTFM varies according to the speaker and the audience, but I choose to understand it as Read The Full Manual because the Full part is very important.

Re: SAAMI .357 Drawing/spec question

Slugging the bore is first and foremost for safety when reloading for older guns, modified guns, smith and home made guns, guns manufactured outside the U S, guns manufactured for foreign governments, etc. In other words any gun where you are not sure of the bore. For example, several people have be...

Re: .243 Trouble

If you go to the SAAMI website and look up 243 Win they show a min oal of 2.540 and a max of 2.710 for the cartridges. The chamber drawing shows a minimum length to the throat of 2.259 with a tolerance of +.015. I got there by entering "saami 243 win" in google. Have you tried factory ammo...

Re: Long range affordable rifle caliber?

One of the problems finding an acceptable factory hunting rifle for long range is that of finding a barrel of sufficiently fast twist ( 1:7 to 1:9) depending on caliber to stabilize the high b.c long heavy bullets that perform the best at long range( over 600 yds for target and 400 yards for hunting...

Re: Long range affordable rifle caliber?

If I were going on my own my primary rifle would be 6.5x55 with 160gr bullets with a 1903 Springfield 30-06 as a backup rifle. If you are going with an outfitter, check with them to find out what they recommend. Some outfitters require a 300 win mag or equivalent as a minimum. There is a lot of good...

Re: Reloading Advice Nagant 7.62 x 38

Did a little checking. sgammo.com has new manufacture Prvi Partizan available for $23.95 for a 50 round box. With that available, it might be advisable to disassemble some factory rounds and measure the bullets from them.
