Re: Shotgun reloading. Is it worth it?

Justifying cost these days may be difficult. Finding the supplies you need to load your own is almost as much fun as finding loaded ammo. But if you shoot regularly ( I shoot 1100-1200 shots a season for trap ) I like to be able to shoot a load that is consistent. 1 oz, 1175fps, approximately. No ne...

Re: Long gun service

+1 on Bob. Had him work on my shotgun, very happy with the results. Another gunsmith with a great reputation for working on precision rifles is Jim Kobe. PM for details if interested.

I was also sad to see Randy leave town. Haven't heard from him in several years. Miss Gage too.

Re: Glock 22 Gen 4 Aftermarket Barrel

I've used both the KKM barrels and the Lone Wolf in several different Glocks to allow me to shoot lead and avoid the Glock "bulge" in the 40 S&W. I've had better luck with the KKM, NO complaints. The Lone Wolf can vary. I had a LW for a G36, throat wasn't cut right, had to send it back...

Re: so other than Rainier, who makes a 5R polygonal bbl for ARs?

OK, I shoot AR's but have only used DPMS and Stag barrels, standard land/groove arrangement. Can any of you see the difference in your groups between standard land/groove and 3R, 5R or polygon ?? I would like to separate fact / experience from fiction. Your experience would be appreciated. Using a 9...

Re: This is not black and white, noob post

MarkL, on station #3, try it as it is. If you are closer to the short end try it in YOUR gun. If the TRP likes it, you are good. Also try something closer to the long end of the range and see if YOUR gun still feeds well; then you know what your OAL limits are. Not all 1911's are equal, depends on h...

Any CFE 223 users out there ??

Never used CFE before, not sure if it requires a mag primer or not. Appears to be a ball powder. Any experience you can share ? Thanks.

Re: This is not black and white, noob post

Take a couple of deep breaths, hold for a second or two, let it out easy. As the guys said, read your manual several times, think thru the steps before you do them, then try it to see how it works. You have an advantage some of us never thought of, almost unlimited advice from experienced reloaders ...

Re: MOUNTED - The very first (sorta) 5.56 STD by FJ540

Hi, got a question regarding the STD. For 223 you use 1/2-28 threads. I'm considering buying a 223 barrel threaded 5/8-24. Will I get the flash suppression of the 1/2-28 units intended for 223 if I screw on the 5/8-28 threaded unit designed for 30 cal ??

Your spin would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Ruger SR22? Ruger Mark III?

I've never tried the SR22. Have put over a case of ammo thru the Mk III though. For decades I had a Smith 41 in the house, very nice piece of Old School workmanship. After acquiring the Mk III, I compared the two, the same day, side by side with 5 or 6 common brands of 22 ammo I had available. Sold ...

Re: First Sig, hope the hype is true.

My experience was with a P 220. NICE piece of hardware. The factory should have suggestions for the other models, height being dependent on sight radius and all that. I don't recall the height, I believe the customer service person referred to a number ( as in, # 10 ) rear sight as the suggested hei...

Re: First Sig, hope the hype is true.

Friend of mine bought a SIG and it hit low. Since he was clueless I called SIG and they recommended replacing the rear sight with a taller one rather than filing on the front sight to cure the problem. Apparently we are not the only ones to have issues with SIG's POI. SIG has several rear sight opti...
