Re: HK VP9

Do you have a lot of rounds downrange with the Streamlight WML? Probably about 1500 rounds between the new VP9 and the USP45F, has been working great. Seems rock solid, bright, good battery life and plenty bright for the night courses I've taken. Fits perfectly on the VP9, the USP is a bit differen...

Re: HK VP9

I jumped on the bandwagon, picked up a shiny new VP9 a few weeks ago from Southwest Arms. Shot it a few times and then sent it off to Bill Springfield for trigger work as it will be my primary training firearm. Lighten up the trigger pull, cleaned up the break very nicely, trigger reset is better no...

Re: remignton R51

Have you checked out the S&W Shield for the wife? They're available, have a proven track record and are inexpensive.

Looking to trade 9mm Shield magazine

I would like to trade my 7 round 9mm Shield magazine for an 8 rounder. I've got big hands, the stubby little 7s don't fit as well. Assuming a face to face here the Cities over a cup of coffee or a burger. Or meet up and do a bit time at Bills. My 7 rounder up for trade has zero wear, has had maybe 2...

Re: Emergency gun loan, looking for stories

Couple of years ago a close buddy of mine from High School got invited to go hunting in western MN on his wife's parent's property. His brother had had shotgun in Wisconsin at the time and it was a short notice trip. Pulled my Benelli out of the closet and loaned it to him for the week. He bagged a ...

Re: what kind of pepper spray for my daughter

I was a bouncer for years and always had good luck with Freeze +P when hosing down combative frat trash. It works well, a second or two spray to the eyes would usually take the fight right out of them and if not they had a lot harder time landing punches when blind. My recommendation is the 2 oz fli...

Re: Putting a new trigger in an AK?

I'll second (third?) the side plate. Less messing around, solid retention of the pins, can't pop loose like the hook can. Ask me how I know that one? Tapco G2 trigger is amazing for the money, makes an AK almost pleasant to shoot, no more trigger slap.

Re: Are we paying for their promises?

If you consider there are more than 300 million fire arms in the US then that 10 billion rounds equals out to only about 33 rounds per gun in the US. That's not a lot.

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

HK USP45F has all the features you're looking for and a 12+1 capacity. I've had one since they came out in 1995, it's been dead reliable. Can be fired both single and double action, has a manual safety, can be setup with ambi safeties and has a decocker which can be deleted if you wish. You can also...

Re: The good old days, Feb, 2003 FAC catalog prices

I just remember FAC as the masters of bait and switch. Buddy of mine went down there the morning their catalog came out. Got there just after they opened. "Any of those Imbel FAL receivers that are in todays catalog?" "Nope, all out" "Any of the Argentine Hi Powers?" &q...

Re: A little bit upset...

I don't claim to be a gun smith by any stretch of the imagination and I got the kit installed in my buddy and my MKIIs in about an hour total for both. The first one took a little longer and I ended up breaking a pin punch but that was my stupid fault. After the first one it wasn't bad when I unders...

Re: Perry Suspenders: do they have any competition?

I've got the Duluth Trading Co. double clip version. They use alligator clips but they're comfortable and work well when I'm carrying a lot of gear on my belt.

Re: Which is the first AR to get?

I'm a former Army grunt and I'm quite a bit partial to the Huldra gas piston rifles my buddy has. Very nice rifles for the price without the direct gas impingement that I grew to hate while I was still in. The Huldras run smooth and clean, very well made guns. I don't have one just because I've gone...

Re: Majestic Arms....

I've got one on my MKII, makes quickly stripping the bolt out for cleaning. My buddy has stripped the threads on his by not paying attention when re-assembling it but he's not really mechanically inclined. I like it on my MKII though. I really like the VQ mag release though, no more pawing at the re...

Re: Best way to "deep" clean pistol internals

What's the recommended cleaning solution that people use? I've used MPro-7 before in the spray bottle and it does a great job of removing carbon plus doesn't stink up the house. Was thinking about getting a gallon jug but I thought I'd check and see what people have had good luck with.
