Re: NRA museum in Fairfax VA

I was also there around Easter weekend, and I have to recommend the museum as well. My favorite of all the sites my wife and I saw in the DC area.

Re: Cut down a Mini 14 barrel?

Already have an AR; I just like to have a variety of guns to shoot. And I'm too heavily invested in 5.56 ammo to start stockpiling a new caliber for AK's. They make AK's in 5.56. JUst sayin. But the mags are a huge pain in the butt to find. I'm glad I got my 5.56 AK set up back before any of the gu...

Re: Concealed carry vest. Anyone use one?

I was going to come in here and not recommend carry vests because of how obvious they look.

However, this one does a pretty reasonable job of looking casual. Nice find!

I had to get rid of my TCP. Nothing but trouble. I will not touch a Taurus semi-automatic firearm again.

Re: Springfield XD-S recall

Or even worse, be one of those people who bought the Caracal and got bit by that recall....

Thankfully that wasn't me.

I was looking at both the Shield and the XD-S over the last year. Maybe I should save the extra cash and just go for the Sig 938 instead?

Re: Finally drank the Glock Kool-Aid....

Enjoy the Glock. I have exactly one Glock. It's a Gen3 26, and it was my first handgun, and I'll keep it around because it hasn't done me any wrong. But.... I do not like the Glock grip angle. At the time, I didn't know any better and just went with the hype. After I tried the XD, I found a much bet...

Re: Is the panic over?

Brooklyn Park Fleet Farm usually has a small quantity of handgun calibers, with varying results which ones it will be. Yesterday was .40 and .380 for semis. I have seen 9mm and .45 there within the last month.

I still haven't seen a .22 LR anywhere since Newtown.

I agree with you. IMO it is the 'best' of the .380 choices out there.

Re: springfield xd-s w/ crimson trace- holsters?

The Holster Store has a range of OWB holsters, including options for the XD-S with crimson trace installed.

Personally, I'd prefer IWB or maybe even a pocket holster. But for OWB options, they will have what you want.

Re: M&P Shield

It's thinner, which is easier to carry concealed with a wider range of options.

Personally, I like it but I think I would prefer the XD-S over it.

Re: Sig P238 & Magtech Ammo

Have multiple people use the same gun and ammunition to rule out user error/issues. If it's the ammo/gun combination, then just use other ammunition. Different tolerances, like everyone else has suggested, can cause different results. Just make sure to verify it isn't user error first so you can cor...

Re: ar stock recomendation

Another warning away from Ace stocks. Did not like mine at all. The adjustable stock actually collapsed on me during a 2-day shooting event, ended up running it the rest of the weekend with the stock in the fully collapsed position. Magpuls and original milspec stocks (collapsing or A2) are my recom...
