Really sweet looking gun. If it shoots nearly as good as my .44 mag Super Blackhawk, you will be one happy camper. Like one of the gang said, look into some .44 Special type reloads for target shooting. I have a nice reload using W-231 and cast bullets with .44 magnum cases. Congratulations on a gre...
No reloads is a dumb rule with the objective of making money selling their factory ammo. Of course shooting your reloads out of a factory box is OK. In NASCAR vernacular "If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying."
Just starting my 10 week pistol league at the Forest Lake Sportsmen's Club. $50.00 to shoot the league. You have the choice of not shooting the league and just shoot for fun or even shooting your rifle at the 50 yard range. We are shooting every Thursday from 2:00pm-7:30pm. Then you can join the Clu...
I had an R1 that I just traded. Really stout 1911 but lacked accuracy. Nice pistol but I just wasn't totally happy with it. When the dust settles and Remington gets it's act together on the R 51, I most likely will pick one up.
At the risk of being called a smart arse, who really cares about all of this stuff  Too much deep thinking for me. All of those charts just make the authors feel intelligent. I'm happy for them. As for me??????? :booyah: I just reload and shoot. :gun: My Bushmaster AR15 is not in danger of fal...
I have been reloading 168gr Nosler Custom Competition BTHP with 45.5gr of 4895. This is the load that Garand shooters I know are using, and also the gang at the CMP forum recommended. I have been shooting this load with amazing results. The other day, I shot some CMP Greek loads, then shot my 168gr ...
I thought that Glocks never needed maintenance, oiling, or anything to keep it shooting. Now I see that metal tools are used to keep them shooting???? Just like when I was told about no Santa
Sweet gun Sir. I have the Range Officer and have had my Gunsmith, Shawn, at Lakes Trading do a trigger job and other things with it. I have shot many G.I.s and really like them. You will get many years and have many great range days with this fine pistol. Congratulations on joining the 1911 communit...
I'm good at all of them. Always looking to improve, but I'm pretty damn good. I've seen some guys shoot that roam this foum that could say the same thing. Not everybody around here is new to shooting.
You are comparing two different generations of pistol. I own both a Colt Woodsman and a Ruger MK II Competition Target. The Colt is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, but I shoot better with my MK II even though as a kid, I learned how to shoot Bullseye style with Mom's Woodsman. I wouldn't sell either...
