Re: shooting sports in trouble?

Shooting sports are doing good. My pistol leagues have as many shooters as I care to manage and score. Don't look under every rock for doom and gloom. Be happy. This will be remembered as the good old days of shooting participation. Thank you Mr. Obama for all of the help!!

I shoot 1/2" or better groups with my Ruger American at 100 yards using factory ammo. I expext better when I reload for it.

Re: Para or Taurus?

Para hands down. No contest. For lower cost 1911 you can't beat the Para. I picked one up just for fun last year, liked it so much I even had a trigger job done.

Re: 41 Magnum

I reload a beautiful range load with cast bullets and IMR 4227 powder.

For hunting, I use HP/XTP bullets and H110 powder.

Re: 41 Magnum

My Ruger .41 mag. Blackhawk is my favorite magnum revolver. My hunting reloads are deadly for deer, and my target reloads are extremely accurate.
Great caliber.

Re: GM has reloading supplies?!

Several years ago, I picked up one of the last six hole RCBS turret presses that GM in Forest Lake had. It was on close out. At the time, my Son worked there, so I got the 30% employee discount on top of the close out price. I think that I got it for around $30.00. I believe that this unit is going ...

Re: Buying a gun silencer just got a lot easier

I recomend the Walker Game Ear for hunting. I have used them for many years. Hearing is great with them, and they are designed to cut off at moderate decibels. Very well made and last for many years. Perfect for my duck hunting. I also use them for my every day hearing aid. The first things I do in ...

Re: Buying a gun silencer just got a lot easier

I always use high quality hearing protection while at the range, which can be several times a week. Both of my hearing aids are Walker Game Ears, which do a great job for me when I'm not at the range.

I try to protect what I have left.

Re: Buying a gun silencer just got a lot easier

I guess what really messed up my hearing was the drilling rigs, all of my duck and goose hunting, and snowmachines. The past 20 years have seen amazing advancements in hearing protection.

Re: Buying a gun silencer just got a lot easier

I've been around shooting and hunting my whole life, and have been around heavy equipment since I was 19yrs old when I drilled on the Longyear core drilling rigs. Retired from Minntac as a heavy equipment operator, and have had ringing in my ears my entire adult life. Noise is not an issue for me be...

Re: Buying a gun silencer just got a lot easier

Just a question so don't jump on me for this.

Why do I want a suppressor?

Would have been great back home in Ely in my younger days to harvest deer year round, but other than that, I have no idea where it would have come in handy.

Re: Range Safety Issue

Last year, I shut a shooter down who was going ninja with his AR. Just the other week I had a guy case his 1911 because in my opinion the gun wasn't safe. As an RO I try to make sure that shooters have a good time, but when safety becomes an issue, I don't hesitate to correct the situation.
