Re: 3 gun match Dec 1, 2012

Perfect! I just wanted to make sure that the Dec 1st match wasn't "closed" and I didn't know about it.

See you there!

Stay tuned for 2013

If you are looking? Check out the V-Tac slings

A friend and I are planning on coming to the Dec 1st shoot. Was "stay tuned" in reference to using slings in 2013?

Re: 3 gun match Dec 1, 2012

I just got my new AR, and i don't have a sling for it yet, I am guessing that we would not be expected to sling a rifle or shotgun? I am guessing all the guns are staged on the course, and they are dumped after that part of the course?

Re: Burnsville winter league

I just scrolled through and didn't see anything, is there an update on the range? Any idea when the winter league might start?

Re: Need help with my new (to me) 1911

One more reason why on the first range trip its not a bad idea to load one round in the first mag 2rds in the 2mag 3rds in the thirdmag etc. Until its verified that the firearm functions correctly. Very good advice!!! All of my above comments aside, this is still a VERY good idea. It is the same pr...

Re: FIXED!

I am not a 1911 expert by any means, I have never even fired one. It would be really terrible from a design standpoint if it would fire and go full auto by having the sear not catch the hammer. It is very easy to imagine a number of scenerios where the sear might miss the hammer and the hammer woul...

Re: FIXED!

I bet you haven't figured out how bad a mistake you could have really made, and were lucky to escape feeling like a fool. If you hadn't stripped the gun, but had instead taken it to a range, loaded the mag, inserted it in the gun and then racked the slide, the gun would almost certainly have slam f...

Re: The Slide on my Sig Mosquito failed catastrophically today..

I'm not a SIG fan, but my Berrettas have also had failure issues, after 50,000 rounds on same slide, on a pre-production test model. VERY GOOD PICTURES - they show the cause of failure clearly - SIG should not have an issue with this failure. The failure occured exactly where and how I would have e...

Re: .270 recomended round?

My Remington Model 700 in .270 shoots the Remington Core Lokt really well, and they are about the cheapest around.

It also shoots the Superformance SSTs EXTREMELY well. 300 yards about 5" spread, and I can guarantee I could have been steadier.

Re: Another Juvenile Gun Death

As long as you understand that keeping a loaded firearm ANYWHERE a child may have access to it is a crime in MN. I was wondering 'bout that ... so, is one of the parents goin' to prison? If the kids loaded the ammo into an empty gun, I'd argue that the parents didn't violate the law. Do the...

I hope to make it to more of them and continue to improve.
