Re: caliber and round for white tails

In the stand I will have a Mossberg Patriot topped with a Vortex Diamonback and 308 Win 150 gr Fusions. When I get out of the stand and spot/stalk (how I get most of my deer) through the thicker brush a Pre-Rem Marlin 336 in 35 Remington shooting handloaded 200 Grain Sierra bullets. I will have my R...

Re: Handgun Photo Thread

I did shoot but not very much. 18 rounds to be exact. 10mm ammo all of the sudden seemed to dry up around here and I haven't had a chance to load any of my own. I had wanted to get one of these since they first came out. But the price kept going up and up. I got this off of gunbroker for a steal. Wh...

Re: Handgun Photo Thread

My new 10mm. That Ruger Alaskan is badass revolver. That's next on my list. It is surprising how little recoil there is for such a small package.

Re: PMR-30 vs RIA 22TCM

My dad has had the PMR 30 since they came out. Its a great little gun. When he got to about 500 rounds through it, the gun began having failure to eject and feed problems. Some research indicated that there was a problem with the barrels. Kel Tec has redesigned them. The old barrels are fluted. Kel ...

Re: TCM 22 Rock Island Armory

My dad has one. It is fun to shoot. He has only found ammo at the General Store(?) in Osakis or Little Crow in Hutch. I think Armscor is the only one making ammo for this right now. Hopefully someone else will make it so its more readily available. Armscor was going to release a semi auto rifle in t...

This year will be a Browning BLR 308 Win for stand sitting and a Remington 141 Gamemaster Pump 35 Remington for spot and stalk through the brush. Heading up Friday morning for my first time out this season.

Re: Are you ready for Deer Opener?

I made the last minuet decision to buy a rifle from my dad that I had ben drooling over the past 17 years. The only way to get it was to sell a rifle. SO its been kind of a rush to get the new Browning BLR sighted in and get acquainted with the rifle. One of my coworkers is taking to the woods for h...

Re: squirrel hunting

The DNR website has a lot of information on where to go. Heres a link. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/hunting/tips/locations.html When you open this link select WMA and you will be able to select the county you want to go to. It will list all of the WMA's, its nearest town and directions from that town....

Tikka Rifles

Whats everyones opinion on the TIkka T3 Rifles. Thinking about getting one. 308 will be the caliber and whitetails, paper and someday a hunt out west for elk, pronghorn and/or mulie will be its use. Pros and cons? Compared to Savage, Remington and Ruger. I like the Tikka because they are light. The ...

Re: 22 TCM-9mm 1911

From what I understand, the 22 TCM is supposed to be the round to be compared against FN's 5.7x28mm. 22 Cal bullet obviously. MY dad bought his at the "General Store" (?) in Osakis and gets most of his ammo from Little Crown in Hutch. Its a fun little range gun that pretty accurate. Im not...

Re: Ecollars for pheasant hunting

Ive been using the SportDog 800 (now discontinued) for 4 years on my German Shorthair. One year ago, the collar stopped recieving a signal except when the dog was real close. I called SportDog CS and he walked me through trouble shooting to discover that the antenna inside the revecier was broken. $...
