Thanks for the advice....did the Fleet Farm/Bills route yesterday. Nice folks at Bills. I'm going to have to come down more often.

Re: St. Paul area shopping opportunities?

Thank you for all your replies...

looks like I'm going to have to get more Wild tickets so I can visit all these places. :D Either the wolfs den or the fleet farm/bills route this first time.

St. Paul area shopping opportunities?

Newbie here...my wife and I will be coming down from the Duluth area on Thursday for a Wild game and we'll have a bit of time to shop. Shop for firearms that is! I would like a few recommendations on a shop or two that would keep us close to I-35E. We're vaguely familiar with the 35E corridor but we...

Re: Reputable Gunsmiths, North

Fair enough Steve...no harm, no foul. ;)

The folks at Superior Shooters talk fondly of a fellow located in Solon Springs but I have no name....

Re: Reputable Gunsmiths, North

Steve, I had a wonderful conversation with Matt's 10x gunsmithing about some jamming issues I was having...knowlegible guy/solid advice... didn't cost me a dime. He's in the local phone book.

Re: Deer Processing

FWIW...the Adolph Store will not be processing venison this year but they will be making sausage out of the cuts you bring in.

Re: Deer Processing

I am in the DIY camp as well but if you need one there is a place I know called Adolf's I believ right out side of Duluth on Midway road. It would kinda be on your way back from the Hibbing area. Their sales component sells out of a phillips 66 station (small gas and grocery) but their products are...

Re: Sad day...

Yeah, sorry about that Rugersol. Pump eh?... Just to note, I have my every year deer rifle. A pre-64 model 94 30-30... ;) So, I don't need to make a call on something quickly. I'd like a summer of shooting at the range with my new set-up to work the kinks out. Also, thanks for the replies and thank ...

Re: Sad day...

You only need one round in the chamber. Use it once and retire it to a place of good memories. Heh...someday when my post count is higher I'll have to tell the story of my "infamous" shooting skills. It's not something I'm proud of... Rugersol...forgive my ignorance...what is that ...

Sad day...

Just got off the phone with a gunsmith that has 40 years of experience and the prognosis is not good. I recently inherited the only rifle I ever remember my father carrying during the Deer season and that same rifle was the only rifle my older brother carried before he passed away. It's an early 196...

Re: Any experiences with holster t-shirts?

- - Kangaroo Carry: This is what I am trying out right now. It is easy to wash as there is no leather piece, but it has great retention. Rides higher up than a belly band, so it limits movement of the firearm. I get very sweaty where it comes into contact with me as it is under my armpit. I am carr...
