Re: OGC Picnic

Glad you found this out as well. We do not do the best job of communicating that to members in my opinion. Everyone should read the newsletter. It is made clear when you join that you need to ensure your email address is kept up to date. It is made clear when joining how and when renewals are due a...

Re: OGC Picnic

Glad you will be able to renew in time. I sent mine in a while ago and, not trusting the USPS, followed up with an e-mail to Teresa a bit later. She confirmed for me.

Good Luck.

I live in Oakdale. Sure is nice having the club 5 minutes from home.

Re: Feral hog hunting, best strategy?

I'm in for information. An Amish neighbor goes to a place in Texas that charges them $250 for a cabin, I think for a week. All the pigs you can shoot. The Amish neighbor got night vision before I did :o It seems though that in general it is difficult to find a place to hunt without getting charged ...

Re: Trap prices

At Oakdale GC (OGC) a round of trap is $8 for Non-Members. Here's a Cut & Paste from the Members Page. I can't remember what they charge Members for a round. I don't shoot trap. "$8 per round for 25 clay birds for Non-Members $3 per round for spouses and children of current OGC Members.&qu...

Re: OGC Picnic

I believe there are some states that allow straight wall cartridges along side slogs in some areas. I can understand that but for us to allow anything .22 and bigger as long as it is centerfire does not make sense. Deer with a 9mm does not sound kosher. That is a big reason I assumed the guy was wro...

Re: OGC Picnic

When the rules changed, didn't .25 ACP become legal? I seem to remember a bit of mockery going around about that! Still true? I believe current rule is any centerfire cartridge, so yes, .25 acp is a legal deer round. Any centerfire cartridge larger than .220 and loaded with single projectile ammuni...

Holland&Holland wrote:Actually 9mm is legal for deer in MN. Not ethical in my opinion but legal.

Looks like you are correct. I though 10mm used to be the minimum straight wall cartridge allowed.

OGC Picnic

Anyone go? It was a great time. I ended up winning $60 between trap, splitting the stick with my .45, and hitting the gong with the .300 WSM deer rifle. Too many guys going for time with the pistol. If you do not break the stick your time doesn't count. 36 or so guys tried. 6 split it. Only 2 of us ...

Re: NY teachers barred from carrying firearms under new law

Again, law abiding, vetted, trusted citizens barred from a means to protect themselves and those we entrust to them.

There are enough laws on the books and those bent on evil and violence pay no heed to them.

Re: Nosler load data

Looks like this is a long standing issue on their site. I was dealing with it back in March, PM'd them on Fb and never got a reply. The work-around is pretty easy though; the load data is a .jpg file, if you go into script debugging on the main cartridge page you'll find the call out for the "...

Re: Nosler load data

Looking through my manuals and data I found one of those little books that has data from a bunch of sources. Like these: https://www.scheels.com/p/loadbooks-usa-rifle-reloading-manual/2708-LB223REM.html https://scheels.scene7.com/is/image/Scheels/82107306064_F I found it ...

Re: Nosler load data

So for those curious on the technical explanation the browser debug console tells me... Mixed Content: The page at 'https://load-data.nosler.com/load-data/30-06-springfield/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure script 'http://www.noslermedia.com/skin/frontend/nosler/loaddata/jquery-1.8...

Re: Nosler load data

What does having all those manuals do for you if I can possibly get the data for the 3 or 4 cartridges I load for for free? I have manuals. I have read them. I also have other resources for reloading process questions. Is the data in the paper manual better than the data a manufacturer publishes ele...
