Bump fire stocks

Wow, I didn’t realize posting what I did would be so controversial! I’ve worked with both GOCRA and the Gun Owners Caucus, but have taken a step back from the caucus for reasons I won’t get into here. I’m just a member like many others and am no longer part of the leadership team. My avatar is still...

Bump fire stocks

I stated what I believe the core question is. And the arguments both for and against. Jerry’s finger, Max’s finger, or even my finger on a pistol can approximate full auto fire. But there’s no contraption attached to the firearm in those scenarios necessary to shoot quickly. Contrast that with using...

Re: Bump fire stocks

Bump stocks fit the statutory definition of a trigger activator in every aspect, except possibly one - no part of it actually touches the trigger. However, there's a finger stop right next to the trigger guard, and the instructions are to place your finger through the trigger guard as normal, and re...

Re: Bump fire stocks

Bryan, I'm asking for your opinion on the issue below. What would be the status if we were to lower the "pull weight" of the trigger? Such as dropping it from 3 pounds to let's say ounces (2 to 10 ounces)? Lowering the pull weight can allow rapid fire, on semi-auto firearms, even though t...

Re: Bump fire stocks

I'd also like to point out that bump stocks are *probably* already illegal in MN, although there's been no test case yet. Unlike the federal machine gun ban, MN also classifies "trigger activators" as machine guns: "Trigger activator" means a removable manual or power driven trig...

Re: Bump fire stocks

It takes two hands to use a bumpstock so there’s significantly more involved than a single trigger pull. It doesn't matter how many hands are used. Nothing in the statute speaks to the operator, his movements, how many hands he's using, etc. The statute doesn't speak to the operator, or what techni...

Re: Bump fire stocks

They changed the definition of machine gun in order to pull it off. Everything is at risk with this. Actually, they created a legal definition of "single operation of the trigger" that doesn't match physical reality or common sense. Machine guns are still defined as they were according to...

Re: Operator in Eden Prairie

Keep in mind though that being a willing participant in an argument, including one where insults are thrown around does not put your reluctant participant status in jeopardy. One has to be a willing participant in the violence before a claim of self defense is forfeit. Threatening someone verbally, ...

Re: It’s been awhile

That's pretty damn cool. How quiet is it with the suppressor? Is there any sort of soft-mount/recoil attenuation with the tripod mount? When (if?) you switch barrels, how much shift in zero do you see? I have one from about 2010-ish. I'd love to meet you at the range sometime next summer and compar...

Re: Operator in Eden Prairie

If the report that he recorded himself saying "give me a reason, just give me a reason" is true, the guy is screwed. “A defendant, who provokes an encounter as a result of which he finds it necessary to use deadly force to defend himself, is guilty of an unlawful homicide and cannot claim ...

It’s been awhile

Hey, it’s been awhile since I’ve visited this forum. Gonna try to correct that and get more involved again. Below is a pic of what I’ve been up to lately. So what’s been up with all you guys I haven’t talked to for awhile? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181207/22a30def8dd1df3df3b7ddd...

Mn Permit to Carry Satisfies Background Check

Unfortunately, my permit expires in April 2019. So I'm one of the ones that will have to deal with a NICS check for every purchase for the next 2 years. Fortunately I've never had a problem, but it's still kind of a pain.

Kansas City Jimmy John's worker calmly hands over cash

You can see the round isn't going into the chamber. It's probably a .40 round and a 9mm pistol.

The kid was probably stoned, or has never been taught or realized that actions have consequences, and that actual danger exists.

Mn Permit to Carry Satisfies Background Check

In other words, the law is so complicated and confusing, dealers will require a background check anyway to avoid making a mistake. Ummmm, no. Someone asked why it only applies to permits that expire after 1 AUG 2019. I answered that question. The difficulty for an FFL begins and ends at looking at ...
