Re: Beretta APX

This guy seems to be a fan. I might be too, if I wasn't into so many other pistols.

Re: Out of Town Trainers

Thanks for bringing him to town. Unfortunately I have pretty unbreakable family plans that weekend. My fault, not yours.

The long range rifle stuff is out of my lane, so I'll leave you guys to that.

I hope to be able to take more two day local courses in the future.

Out of Town Trainers

You used to be able to find when people were bringing in out of town trainers for classes here, such as ECQC, Ayoob's MAG20, etc. Haven't seen any in a while; is there just less traveling trainers, are they coming here less, or just being advertised on here less? I'd like to find some classes withou...

Re: Glock 43 vs. SIG 365

The detectives I work with all seem happy with their 43s. The officers who carry 365s off duty also seem pleased with their choice. I would say whatever fits your hand better. I have a 43, and use the +2 mag baseplates to give my fingers somewhere to go, and am happy. The 365 does carry more rounds,...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

Guessing they were not mailed in March. The mail is often slow, but I could walk it from the club to my house in a month...no matter, as the prox cards still work.

And yes, I emailed. No response yet.

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

Went shooting today. There were a couple of parties on the short range. One seemed to be giving instruction to another. I thought about asking if they lived in the same household, but decided that would be chickensh!t. One car on the 200, a couple people in the 25, what sounded like a mag dump on th...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

Guessing most of the board are of an age where exposure would likely be fatal. Or am I wrong?

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

I emailed the prez last night, asking for a decision. I'd recommend all interested members do the same.

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

Has anyone tried their card reader on the gate, or is Teresa padlocking it every time she goes out for groceries?

Given how well computers things work at the club, maybe the gate will just open...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

I'll be looking for 10 percent of my dues back, and climbing. What a bunch of self righteous idiots. A social and moral obligation? How about fear of a lawsuit? From your members, or someone who caught a sniffle. I've seen less separation in parks than I have whenever I go shoot. My job requires me ...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

They came up with about a 20k solution, which was declined by those responsible at the club as 'too expensive'. :?: I was told by the salesman who quoted the price that he had said $20,000 would get a site with requirements including a scheduling calendar, and that he was told when he called the cl...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

I didn't see a functional scheduling website on the list of projects, and I remember seeing online scheduling would not be available again for 2020. I used to work at a software design firm, and was asked informally to see if they would bid on designing a website and attached software for the club. ...
