cold bore shooting range??

So I was out in the woods this past Saturday, marking a fence line, with my brother-in-law. When we wrapped it up and headed home, I saw a small sign with something along the likes of "Cold Bore Firearms Shooting Range". It was located adjacent to the Hubbard - Beltrami county line (Beltra...

Re: Star Model B 9mm question

Is there a spring loaded pin in the back of the slide lock that engages a detent? I have a Star PD and I believe they are quite similar.

Re: Guy at Cabela's today.

The Cabela's in Glendale, AZ (a couple miles down the road from where I live) has nice enough employees and their shelves are usually well stocked. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences spending more than enough money there. Cashing in a XX% off coupon on an item that is on sale doesn't require ...

Re: What are your first shot times?

Spent a piece of Monday morning at the range working on 1st shot presentations. After I got limbered up, my times were 1.12 seconds, +/- a few hundredths, for the first shot. If I skipped getting an actual sight picture, I could drop it down to .99 seconds. I was using a Springfield XD9 4" (sto...

Re: Need suggestions for a good garage pistol

I live in a very rural part of minnesota with no neighbors or kids. Just my wife and I and our rat terrier dog. As a kid growing up in Minnesota, we had a rat terrier. Watched that terrier take a sizable chunk out of a madder than hell hereford cow that turned on me (we discovered later the cow did...

Re: Why is this pistol not legal in MN?

I was flipping through a Cabela's ad this past weekend. They had their Bond Arms Centerfire Derringers in it. There was a footnote stating that this was not available in MN and ILL. While I don't necessarily appreciate a Bond Arms derringer, a handgun retailing for over $450 shouldn't be classified ...

Re: Bad service from SWFA?

For Vortex optics, you should be dealing with Scott Berish at Liberty Optics. He's got a faster line on Vortex. Or else talk to Jay at Optics Specialists. As far as your complaint, I'm not exactly surprised that you didn't get a response. If your optic was not damaged, and you received it, then it'...

Re: What does your Kahr PM/CM/CW/9mm like to eat and ride in?

My PM9's carry rounds are Remington Golden Saber 124 gr. (not shown in the photo)

I've been carrying it in a Slide Guard horsehide holster by High Noon now for several years.

Re: Bad service from SWFA?

Last fall, I purchased $860+ worth of optic from SWFA. It was packed about as good as what I would expect from a 1st grader. The optic was literally rattling around inside of the box. I sent customer service an e-mail with links to photos so they could see how poor the job was and requested a respon...

Re: Such a difference

who are you, Charles Bronson? the OP sounded like he was speaking of suppressors in the context of hunting, judging from the 80 acres of land he said he was retiring too. Actually, I am not looking to hunt with a suppressor as it does make for a very long barrel. Yes, I did have information about h...

Re: Such a difference

Noise reduction is very important. How many of you have actually shot indoors that is not a range? Do you know how disorienting it is to actually be subjected to that noise without hearing protection. I don't know how many of you have hearing protection next to your night stand, but when you need i...

Re: Stevens 320

Based on the intended use and the loads you intend to shoot, I would suggest that you do not want a pistol grip only shotgun. You need a shotgun with a stock which can be properly mounted to your shoulder. I've spent several weeks in shotgun training courses over the past couple of years. Pistol gri...
