Re: Great way to spend an evening

I don't do anything video when I'm reloading, but don't mind some audio in the background. Most of the time, I'll burn through some of the podcasts I've gotten behind on. There is nothing in them that is what I would consider distracting. Works for me.

Re: Picked up a Springfield XD-S

I think the TJ will remain here in Arizona. She is 15 years old now, less than 100K miles on it....no rust....lots of aluminum underneath. She needs to stay salt (and rust) free until she finally calls it quits, which should be a long time, hopefully. Besides, I got too many grand kids now....it is ...

I have a Colt Mk IV Series 70 on the shelf in the safe so I figured I could reference it. FWIW, I am not a Colt fan boy. ;)

Re: Picked up a Springfield XD-S

Evad,

I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have 80 acres outside of Bemidji and in 5 years, when I pull the plug here in AZ and retire, the Mrs. and I will be building a new house there and enjoying ourselves.

Re: Benelli supernova tactical 12ga.

Check out Mesa's web site. I believe they've done a few adjustments on the side saddle to improve it. I've not visited their site in a while. Good luck with yours. Edit: I noticed your sight system is different than mine. I wasn't aware they had variations in the tactical model. Maybe Benelli change...

Picked up a Springfield XD-S

A couple of Saturdays ago, I stopped by the local Cabela's to check for some powder and SMKs. With nothing there on my list, I wandered over to the gun counter....it was pretty slow as I was there just after opening and everyone was still look for .22LR and 9mm. Anyway, started chatting with...

Re: Chronograph Information

I ran one of the higher end PACT chronographs until the display starting dropping. Finally decided to get something newer. The CED M2 has been doing really well for me. Here is review of the CED M2 chronograph.

Re: Cheek rest

That looks kind of odd to me. Shouldn't it be adjusted so that the end toward the butt is higher than the end toward the muzzle so that, on recoil, it doesn't push or slap you in the cheek? You are quite correct....and that is how I run it. And the picture was taken before it ever made it to the ra...

Re: Added a Daniel Defense light rail free float today.

Congrats on your new rail! I put a free floating Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 on a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed it. Impressed with how rugged it is.

Re: AR Optics

I won't recommend the DMS-1. Bought one, used it, broke it, retired it. It got a couple of bumps during a drill and the illuminated optic was history. The glass is of poor quality....you can see distortion around the edges....and it feels like it weighs a ton. It is certainly made in China. I would ...

Re: A pretty powerful infographic

The numbers look about right. The link to the PDF is right at the bottom. Those tables really do exist. Spent time reading them before....that where the stats come up in regards to many, many more people are beat to death, by hands and feet, than are shot with rifles. Hammers are a biggie too! Watch...

Re: Benelli supernova tactical 12ga.

Mesa Tactical makes a nice alloy SuperNova side saddle. It has an integrated Picatinny rail built into it too. I ran mine through several defensive shotgun courses and it worked very well. Great for supporting a select slug drill or emergency reloads, topping off, etc.

Re: Eotech XPS2

I run an EOTech XPS2 on my FNH SLP Mk1 shotgun. It is a nice sight for such things, IMO....and it sure makes a defensive shotgun course a lot of fun. Shot the heck out of it during an advanced class.
