Re: Response Email from Senator Amy Klobuchar - New Bills

I, too, got the same reply. (Nothing from Al yet.)

It's a nice generic reply that doesn't reveal much, but her actions (of signing on as a co-sponsor of Feinstein's S.150) speak louder than words.

Re: the new panic... hr 241

Yes, we need to keep up the pressure. The difference between victory and defeat is often measured in inches. When writing to your representative, the best letter or e-mail is very short and clear. Most legislators just don't have time to read through long-winded discourses to see if they understand ...

Re: 5.7

I don't reload, but will note that 5.7x28 ammo is trickling out, for those who know where to look and are patient. Every so often Cabela's (web site) will list SS197 or accept backorders for it, and have delivered for me, most recently a few weeks ago (from an order 6 weeks earlier). MidwayUSA recen...

Re: Local Source for 5.7X28mm

5.7 is indeed hard to find, and the Gander in Woodbury has always had a few boxes on hand every time I have been in there, albeit at nosebleed prices. Good for emergencies, I guess.

Re: New Glock book out.

I read it. I didn't feel very strongly either way about Glock before reading it. They didn't fit me well, but to each his own. AFTER reading the book and seeing how the company was run and how people who were integral parts of getting the gun made in the first place and then distributed widely in t...

Re: New Glock book out.

Your comments are not quite accurate. I *did* read the book, and said so in that thread. I don't own a Glock, and came away much less likely to do so than before.

Re: 5.7x28mm, Only Models by F. N. Herstal?

I only discovered this caliber and the FN Five-SeveN a few months ago, and have been intrigued ever since. Any gun that has caused so much concern about being bad and needing to be banned is automatically interesting!

Re: Book Review "Glock: The Rise of America's Gun,"

I read a pre-publication copy of this book a month or so ago. At least now I know what the Glock mania is all about. There really isn't much admirable about Gaston Glock or his company. If the book is correct, Gaston is a hedonistic and arrogant guy who found a way to make a buck building inexpensiv...

Re: .22 LR ammunition. Cheap.

The Federal 550 value pack ammo works fine in all 3 of my very different .22s - BuckMark, Beretta and Remington.

I have gone to Dicks 3 times the past 2 weeks and stil have the gift card.....

I think the only purpose that Dick's exists is to make GM look really good in comparison.

Re: Don't do this

Typical kid thing. When my daughter went out on her first drive in a car after getting her driver's license, her friend helpfully said "Hey, there's a bee in the back seat!" Naturally my daughter turned to look at the problem ... and naturally turned the steering wheel along with her head....

Re: Gander Mountain Experience

I realize that we are not all made of money, but I think the best solution is to just not sell any guns.

Actually, the same thing applies to houses, cars, etc. Every time someone "helps" you with a transaction, they want a lot of money for the privilege.
