Minneapolis police shooting - here we go again

You can support the police and also demand better. It does not have to be one or the other. I would like to know specifically why this was a no-knock warrant. Did they even attempt to watch the place for a while to see if they could nab the suspect outside? As has been stated multiple times on this ...

M14/M1A Gunsmith?

I'm looking into buying my first M14/M1A. I'm considering building my own, but installing the barrel and fitting the bolt are not things I am equipped to do. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a gunsmith that has experience in this area? I'm in the southern metro but would drive...

8 strains of the coronavirus are circling the globe.

Sewage at a major treatment facility in Massachusetts showed there are likely hundreds more people with coronavirus in the area than officials thought, researchers say. I think that's just confirmation of the obvious. With so many people having mild or no symptoms, combined with the lack of testing...

Re: Beginning of the End for Brass Cases?

The green factor may be a downside. I don't foresee the Brass Rats scooping up empties if there is no metal in the spent cases. Probably won't be a factor for most reloaders but I recall military spent brass is sold by the armed forces sometimes. I thought of this as well. These won't be reloadable...

Re: Beginning of the End for Brass Cases?

I thought that brass served the vital purpose of absorbing and then ejecting significant amounts of heat from the firearm, which is why caseless was never as nifty an idea as it sounded. How does polymer cope- or does it? Need Russstra to explain polymers. I would think if a polymer gets hot enough...

Beginning of the End for Brass Cases?

"After 50 Years, the Army and Marine Corps Are Closing In on Dumping Brass-Cased Ammo" https://www.military.com/daily-news/2020/04/05/after-50-years-army-and-marine-corps-are-closing-dumping-brass-cased-ammo.html I just read this article and thought it would make an interesting topic of di...

Re: Dakota County RANGE CLOSED (for coronavirus)

No one is happy we were ordered to close. We checked with the state, got bounced around until we were told to check with the Sheriff's office since they were enforcing the closures, and they said we were under the closure order. I half-jokingly asked the board what the penalty for staying open was ...

Stripped Grip Screw

I'm sure I can try to drill it out. I've been going back and forth on it. Just don't want to mess up a gun I haven't even fired yet.

Stripped Grip Screw

Being an absolute bonehead, I stripped the head on one of the grip screws on my brand new P229 (slotted head). There is red thread sealant on the three I did get off. I sure hope Sig isn't stupid enough to put red loctite on these screws. I want to replace the grips, but would still like to preserve...

Why does there have to be a thread about every stupid online poll about gun control? Are we really so dang paranoid that we have to spread the word just to make sure the poll says no? It's a meaningless KSTP poll on Facebook. Big friggin' deal.

Like what? Maybe a mandatory psych evaluation. What if the person doesn't show? Physically brought in by the police or confiscate then? Just spit balling...
