Re: BWCA garmin 650 rino maps

I purchased the Garmin BWCA this spring for our trip in May. They are very good maps and worked well us. They show all the portages, trails, campsites, and also water depth. I would highly recommend them, they were worth the money.

I know nothing about the riino so make sure they are compatible.

Re: revolvers vs deer

I hunted this year for the first time in 10 yrs with a Ruger Super Blackawk 44 Mag with iron sights and a 7 1/2 barrel. I missed two, and hit two. One was 40 yards out and dropped instantly. The other was about 25 yards out and ran about 100ft. Both were shots to heart with 240gr hollow points. I ha...

Re: Revolver carry.

I mostly pocket carry my j frame. I have a couple IWB but I like the pocket holster the best so far. I don't like to have to worry about my shirt riding up and showing the holster(I need to get some better clothes). I saw that at a store today and was reminded why I like my pocket holster. I have an...

WTB: Holster for S&W 637

Picked up a 637 this weekend and am now looking for an IWB holster. Preferably tuckable, but will take a look at anything. I will be at the show in St Paul on Saturday(3/16) in the morning, or I will pay for shipping. Located in Stewartville.

Thanks!!

Re: Wells gun show?

I too thought there wasnt much there. I was shocked by the number of tables there that had nothing to do with firearms. It was also way too crowded and not enough room to manuever around the crowd in the hallways. We stopped at Hart Brothers on the way home and I picked up some 10/22 mags and really...

Re: MWCA gun show - Rochester, Jan. 12-13

I got there at 8:15 and left at 10:30. Pretty busy when I got there and very crowded when I left. I thought the prices were high. Didn't buy anything but a cup of coffee. Its always fun to go look around. I sat and watched people coming and going for a while and it looked to me like people were buyi...

Its an interesting thread. I check almost 20 pages of the thread and no Dwight Shrute pizza... I'm disappointed.

I might have to try that next time I order something.

Re: New one (first .357 mag) followed me home

I have an SP101 in .357 with the 2" barrel and bobbed hammer. I had the smiths at Ahlmans do a trigger job on and it is probably my favorite gun now. They put some lighter springs in it and smoothed everything out. Used to be rough and heavy with a nasty catch just before the hammer fell. Now i...

Re: Red Dot recommendation for Ruger 22/45 Lite

Is it this one: http://www.truglo.com/IW_Products.m4p.pvx?;MULTI_ITEM_SUBMIT They have a "Classic" that is just one color, that would probably work. Thanks again everyone for the input. Sorry for the slow response; I just now saw the question. The link in your post tak...

Re: Red Dot recommendation for Ruger 22/45 Lite

I have a truglo on my Mark 3 Hunter and have had good luck with it. It has green and red dot with adjustable size dot with a circle and extra battery storage. Found it at Fleet Farm for $60 on clearance(regular $80) a couple months ago. The one I bought was a "Turkey" model, they also had ...

Re: Small revolvers vs. large and subjective recoil?

I have a 2 1/4 in sp 101. I found the rubber hogue grips to provide a much better grip than factory and also absorb some recoil. 38's are a breeze, as are 110 gr 357, 158 gr 357 can be a bit much if I'm not ready for them though. I've been trying different positions with my hands to better control t...

Re: Ruger Mark III 22/45 Red Dot Sight

When I was new to pistol shooting, I had a hard time hitting anything and always thought my sights were off, after a couple thousand rounds with no changes other than more practice, things were MUCH better. So perhaps some more trigger time would help. Couple months ago I picked up a Mark 3 Hunter m...
