Re: Hazards Of A Militarized Police Force

.. if I'm a peace officer stuck in a situation where someone might explode an IED style bomb in my face or shoot at me after killing numerous other individuals I'd likely adopt a "warrior" mindset as well... Did you really ask " how heavily armed [and dangerous] can an injured teenag...

Re: Another Gouger Mtn thread.

Got my XDs at my favorite gun store for 599.99 in bi-tone where GM price is 649.99 for all black :o As for ammo, ya they high except .22 normal like every where else except the gun shows :( Yea they have one at frontiersman for $670. I was shocked. Last time I saw one there it was $600. But I would...

Re: New Remington 1911R1 shoots about two feet low.

I had the same issue with a Tanfoglio. IMO some guns just don't agree with some people. My Tanfo was accurate as hell but was always 10 inches low. It was the only pistol with fixed sights that was ever more than a few inches off. Said screw it and sold it.

sad...

So I think I am just going to buy a hundred or so .44 mag factory winchester rounds because that way I can still shoot and finally have some extra brass. It's sad when you have to resort to that to shoot. I have plenty of powder and primers and even have been able to find projectiles here and there ...

Re: Lee Auto disk issues...

I guess I'm the only one confused. You were loading 2.5gn of AA7 for .44Mag? I have found that for handguns, 2gn of ANY pistol powder is more than enough to get the bullet out of the barrel--except 296/H110 (it just forms a glob of unburned partially melted powder somewhere in the barrel). Very few...

Re: Looking for a smokey load

I know most people probably want to minimize the smokey-ness of their shooting, especially if shooting indoors, but I want to put on a smoke show next time I get together when some friends for an outdoor BBQ and target shoot. I have a pile of 158 gn lead semi-wadcutters I want to load up in .38 or ...

Re: Questions from a new reloader

I have another question, hope it isn't out of line. Is using a chronometer essential? I can see how it would be useful to see if you're getting close to suggested speeds like the load data gives, but I haven't found conversation how speed and accuracy affect one another. Is there a sweet spot betwe...

Re: Lee Auto disk issues...

The new process is to prime each piece of brass and then tare the scale with the brass. Charge brass then check charge with case. Works good and I like seeing how consistent my auto disk is. It slows me down a bit but I like it.

Lee Auto disk issues...

So I was loading up some new 180 gr sierra JHP last night in .44 mag. Towards the end of my reloading session I noticed that one of the charges looked reaaal low. So I weighed it of course. 2.2 grains!!! Very scary stuff. Dumped it out and charged another. 2.5 grains, another... 2 grains. Needless t...
