Re: Nikon Monarch 3 or Prostaff 7?

Nikon's MONARCH 3 2.5-10 BDC will work great for the uses you described. The MONARCH glass is very clear and excellent in low light conditions. Plus it is backed by Nikon's No Fault Policy in case something happens to it. The BDC reticle is easy to dial in with Spot On and very accurate. I have work...

Re: Scope for Ruger Precision Rifle? (Not my Nikon?)

I agree with CRButler. So many factor's come in to play depending on what you are going to shoot with your rifle. Even with the BDC reticle you can turn knobs to dial out your distance. Just like using the BDC reticle there is data you will need to make accurate shots at distance. The 6.5 CM is a lo...

Re: Scope for Ruger Precision Rifle? (Not my Nikon?)

Check out Nikon's brand new BLACK X1000 4-16 Illuminated Reticle in MOA/MRAD. Very nice scope, great glass,30mm tube and covered by nikon's No Fault Policy should something ever happen to it. Best of all, under $600. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd363/bman940/Screen%20Shot%202017-...

Re: Range disappointment after shooting reloads

Agree, the barrel resting on anything that can cause pressure could be a big problem. You have a very stout rifle from DPMS. I did some product testing 4 years ago with the oracle in 7.62 and 5.56. 1000 rounds out of each in an afternoon. I got the barrel so hot on the 7.62 when I set it next to a r...

Re: Best Value Scope Recommendation for Appleseed .22lr

Maybe you like it maybe you don't..... Nikon just started a PROMO where if you buy a M or P Series scope you get a free mount. For your needs, I would suggest you look at the P-223 3X Carbine scope. It is a fixed scope with a large obj. for great light gathering/field of view and clear. I have 50+ y...

Re: Handgun hunting.

I love shooting my 44mag handguns. After shooting a .50 on time I no longer call my .44's hand cannon's when compared to .50's. I have hrvested one doe with my .44 and even one with my .45 acp from 10 yards away. One of the feature's I like the best on my Nikon Force XR is the BDC reticle. I have pu...

Re: Opening day less than two weeks away...

MJ, I have been pleasantly surprised at how accurate some of these rifled slug barrel are. One of the most accurate I have had the pleasure of shooting was a Browning 20ga auto with rifled barrel. Consistant cloverleaf and 3 inch group at 186 yards. I never considered using a 20 ga slug gun until tr...

Re: Opening day less than two weeks away...

Chopper, Let me know what Nikon CS finds out about your scope. I do freelance PR work for Nikon and have abused my shoulder with way to amny rifled slugs down range over the last 5 years. Fortunately hunting is a one shot and done deal thus far. Things do happen with scope's once in a while and I am...

Re: Problems bore sighting new Nikon scope

Afb, You are right, you should not have to shim a scope to sight it in. I have seen the same problem a few times last year. All involved the AR Mount not being lined up correctly. There is some play on some picatinny rails and if you do not tighten the mounts down evenly your type of problem will oc...

Re: Nikon AR Scopes

Tilt, Some very dolid answer's her to your question and some important question's you need to answer as well before deciding on which Nikon AR scope will work for your needs. You have picked your price point and that opens up the whole line of M-223/P-223 AR scopes to you. I have been a fan of the M...

Re: Amazon - Nikon Prostaff BDC 3-9x40 scope, $109 after rebate

You are correct. The BDC Bonus Day's have been a huge hit. Great saving's if you are looking at a PROSTAFF Scope. Applies to any BDC scope though. A lot of guy's have tried to use it on the PROSTAFF M-223 3-9 BDC but last I heard we were sold out with many more on the way! Some great choices to save...

Re: Nikon Coyote Special Scope/ AR-15

Ali, just think of all the damage that they do. Down here in Tx. they have entered neighborhoods for food. Seem's like they have a certain taste for cat's. We've lost 3 good mousers to them. 1 had a narrow escape and a $150 vet bill. You'll do fine! I've really enjoyed participating in this thread. ...

Re: Nikon Coyote Special Scope/ AR-15

I went back to check the component's you put into this build. Who did it for you? I'd be back in touch with that person trying to get them to fix it for you. I don't know what more you can do without dropping some added money on top of it that you really should not be responsible for. IMHO. The Coyo...

Re: Nikon Coyote Special Scope/ AR-15

On a side note, at least it wasn't the Coyote Special Scope that was the problem. I would have to believe somehow it is your ring's/mount's giving you issues Ali. If not, I wouldn't hesitate to send it back to Manuf. and let them evaluate it. I had to do that a few year's ago with a carbine, would n...
