Re: In a contest vs. Redding TiC and Hornady TiN 9mm size dies:

I don't remove the lube. There isn't much there to start with, and by the time the cases are loaded, it is unnoticeable. Same. If while loading them into ammo boxes I feel they have an excessive amount of lube they get a quick wipedown with a towel. Now on the other hand rifle cases get tumbled aft...

Re: 454 Casull shot loads for 410 Contender

I too am interested in a few snake type loads in 454 using either h110 or titegroup. As to the op in your contender I won't see any advantage other than brass strength using 454 over the 45 colt because if the contender is chambered properly it wont chamber a 454 as they are .100 longer than the col...

Re: Cast boolits 300 AAC

http://www.beartoothbullets.com/bulletselect/index.htm

I have bought from these guys before and they are great bullets. Looks like they have a few under 150gr.

Re: 458 SOCOM?

I debated for a while between .458 Socom and the .450 Bushmaster. I ultimately chose the .450, only because I already handloaded .454 Casull and would have the ability to use the same bullets in both calibers. They both are pretty neat cartridges. As you stated you were looking at reloading supplies...

Re: Hornady LNL AP Press Questions

Lee FCD they normally have them in stock at Cabelas. I had one problem with the press loading .454 Casull. The case would get hung up on ejector tab and after a little time with tech support we concluded it was the shell plate so I sent it and 5 cases in to them. Less than a week later my shell plat...

Re: 9mm crimp

Just a possibility if they are passing the thunk test without crimping you may not be flaring enough and may be shearing the jacket/plating off your bullets during the seating process. I would pull a bullet and make sure that isn't happening. Also make sure you are actually not crimping with your se...

Re: MN 3 Gun Class Question - Pistol

As shooter said you will be fine in tac-limited or tac-optics. 3 gun rules are quite a bit more lax than say USPSA. You can do basically anything to your pistol besides adding an optic or running mags longer than 140mm and it won't put you in open.

Re: Advice on working to a safe load for .50AE 400grain

That 24.5 of H110 seems about right at max considering heaviest 454 casull loads with 405gr bullets are at ~24ish of H110. The 454 and 50AE have similar case capacities. One thing to remember with using H110 or 296 is to not use for reduced loads. Those powders have tendencies to have pressure spike...

Re: .223 Brass processing

Yeah that's cool to post you service on his thread. That's a good way to meet new friends.... As CarRacer stated yes retread does live in Texas now. I don't see why posting in a post about brass processing that an alternative in state would be a problem anyways. I was the guy that just had about 2k...

Re: Range camera, no more running back and forth

I'm interested in this also, although I definitely would not need a 1500 meter transmit range so maybe I could go a little cheaper on those parts. Maybe the gopro would work for me.

ETA: The GoPro unit says max range is 180m I would like more range than that.

Re: press alignment question

Do you have any other plates you can throw on to confirm it is not a problem with the plate itself? Otherwise as the other 2 posters said it may need alignment. I had one plate a 454 casull plate that the cases would get hung up on the ejector tab and sent it in to hornady with 5 cases and next thin...

Re: Tool marks...

As previous post said yes use sandpaper but do not start at 80  say start at 600 or 1000 and go up to 1500-2500. You can get a pretty nice shine with 1500 but the finer you go the more mirror like it will be. On something like that I don't think I would mind the tooling marks they look kinda ...
