Re: CZ Scorpion Carbine 40S&W?

Thanks, I had no idea. Do you have any idea why the 40 is declining so fast? I thought that round was by many considered superior to the 45. Anyways, that's unfortunate. I still really like 9mm but it's tricky to find much out there for carbines in 40 or 45.

CZ Scorpion Carbine 40S&W?

As I'm sure many of you on here are, I am a huge fan of the CZ Scorpion which as far as I know, only comes in 9mm at the moment. It's on my wish list regardless but I was wondering if anyone out there has heard any chatter as to whether or not CZ plans on making a version of the Scorpion in 40 or ev...

Re: 45-70 opinions?

Well, I think I'm going to keep it between the 45-70 and the 30-30. Ideally, I'll own both at some point. I'm thinking a Winchester 94 for 30-30 and a Marlin 1895 for the 45-70. Not much I couldn't do with both. FWIW, I'd reverse those ... IMO, the Winchester 1886 is much more better than the Marli...

Re: 45-70 opinions?

Darn, I'm still torn! I love the 45-70 for an all around brush gun, but I can't help but think I may appreciate a round that holds its energy a little further. If I'm shooting at 100 yards or closer, the 45-70 is a no brainer but now, I'm looking at the Marlin 450 as it's pretty much a 45-70 that ke...

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

To go one further with this, military and LE are trained to properly use a firearm and know what they're doing. I think it's pretty reasonable to sell a weapon to someone at a discount who knows what the hell they're doing with it. Some guy who has never held a gun but is going through a mid-life c...

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

Someone who uses a firearm at work obviously knows what they are doing with them and use them more often. Really??? I feel so safe knowing that, that uber professional officer who knows how to handle a gun so much better than I, got a discount on his Glock. He probably needed it for his ER ...

Re: 44 Rossi Ranch Hand.

You almost sound like you work at a different gun shop ;) no, he doesn't. he just understands the importance of getting something as personal as buying a firearm, and helping your local businessman at the same time You've never seen the use of a winking smiley face have you? Haha, I should have kno...

Re: 45-70 opinions?

Great cartridge. In the right gun it can be hand loaded to near 458 Win. Mag energy. Most factory (some factory rounds do state they are not for the old trap door rifles) rounds are loaded low so they will work in the old trap door rifles. In a Marlin lever gun they can be loaded higher. In my Ruge...

Re: 45-70 opinions?

I've loaded 405's around 1,400 ... target shooting only ... plenty accurate ... at least with the cast bullets I was using! For hunting, I'd rather use my .44! ... basically the same trajectory ... deer's jest as dead! If ya want a nice levergun that'll reach out, if ya need it to, I'd stick with t...

45-70 opinions?

After doing some reading online, I keep hearing great things about this caliber. One article I believe claimed it was one of the best brush guns you could find. Does anybody have any experience or opinions with the 45-70? I love what I hear about the round but you know how the internet "experts...

Re: 44 Rossi Ranch Hand.

The gun was new and I was told that all sales are final. Did you bother calling the store you bought it with and explain the problem to see if they's help? If so, and Gander wasn't willing to stand behind it, that would be just one more reason on top of the dozens of others not to shop there. If no...

Re: 44 Rossi Ranch Hand.

Yep. I owned a Rossi and luckily I sold it before I could shoot it; the cylinder wouldn't rotate properly and the guy I sold it to had hot brass fly at his face. The quality control at Rossi is atrocious. I just posted this on another thread too because they are garbage.

Re: Anyone have experience with these revolvers?

Do NOT buy a Rossi. I bought a 357 new and had to sell it before I could even fire it; lucky for me. The guy I sold it to had the cyclinder get stuck and wouldn't rotate after being fired and he had hot brass flying back at his face. Don't buy it to save money, for your own safety.
