Re: Burnsville Pistol Range

Right on. That's my plan too. Did you do the online portion or in-class? I can see the pros and cons of both. I did it online, though there are definitely cons of not being in a classroom for the material. I recommended Blue Line Defense to a friend of mine after I took their defensive handgun cour...

When you did your C&C, was that with BPR itself? or did you someone else, but at BPR? I know Shade's Landing does their range time there for their C&C courses.

Range time only w/ Shades Landing.

Re: gun sale hypothetical thinker....

It isn't really a Straw Buy. A Straw buy is where a person who can not legally have a firearm gets someone to purchase said firearm for them. A straw buy is where ANY person purchases the firearm on behalf of another. Not true. I can buy a firearm for someone else as a gift, as long as that person ...

Re: gun sale hypothetical thinker....

http://www.atf.gov/training/firearms/ffl-learning-theater/episode-4.html From the ATF website. Aimed at dealer education, but should clarify some things. Normally a straw purchase would be defined as a purchase on behalf of a person unable to complete the transaction themselves. Fed...

Re: gun sale hypothetical thinker....

From an FFL's perspective, inference of a straw purchase is plenty of reason to deny a sale. Remember, people that are intentionally making a straw purchase normally know they're doing something wrong. They're not going to openly tell the dealer what they're up to. If the dealer thinks something's u...

Re: GunShotWound management class offered...Signup

I was talking to a buddy about this opportunity and he is also interested in attending. Are there any issues with adding a non-forum member to the list?

Re: Question for guys with ffl

There is a UPIN field for individuals that have gone through the trouble to obtain one. This bypasses federal record keeping requirements and allows NICS to keep some of the buyers info on file. People that get annoyed enough with constant delays can jump through some hoops to get a UPIN. A form 447...

Re: *NEW GUY QUESTION* Used vs New AND Southpaw Pistol Advice

I did a ton of research while looking for my first handgun. I settled on a Smith and Wesson M&P 40c. Small enough to carry, big enough to shoot comfortably at the range. Ambidextrous slide release and flippable mag release.

Re: M&P Shield

Put about 200 rounds through my 9mm Shield today. FMJ fed great. Hornady Critical Defense 115g FTX had feed issues about once per mag over five mags. Hoping it's a break-in issue, though I've never had any feed issues with my 40c. Other than the feed problems, this gun is great. Fits much better tha...

M&P 9mm w/Night Sights (St. Cloud area)

Guns, Gear and More in Waite Park has a full size M&P 9mm w/ factory night sites for $425. It's used, looks like its got <1000 rounds through it. It wasn't clean when I was it this afternoon, not sure how long they've had it.

Re: M&P Shield

Was surprised to see Cabelas (Rogers) had an M&P Shield in the case when I went in this afternoon. The sales guy said they had a .40 in stock, but couldn't seem to find it anywhere. The gun itself feels great. It doesn't look much slimmer than the M&P 40c I normally carry, but in the holster...

Re: The Big One - MWCA Gun Show

I'm trying to convince the girlfriend to turn Saturday date day into gunshow day. Might even find her one of those Cheetah .380's she likes.

See how I made that about her? She likes that. ;)
