Re: Site adjustmentioned screw help.

Sounds like the original oil that was put on it may have started to turn to varnish. No telling how big a run they make on these things, but CDNN has got to be selling them left and right. I remember ordering mine December 1st in 2015 for the ridiculous price of $369.00, and CDNN has kept that pric...

Re: May 2016 Update on REDUCED VOLUME 9mm brass!!!

There is a guy who uses Freedom munitions in our Wednesday night league and every one of his cases has the damn shoulder in it. I keep it for scrap but will not use it for loading.

Re: 80% 1911?

Grips look great. If you go to Stealth Arms .com you can get everything you would need to build one. They have 2 different jigs to finish the frame, one if you have a mill and one if you do not. I used the one that did not need a mill.

Re: 80% 1911?

Sorry I have not been on here for awhile. I ran 100 rounds down it last weekend with no hiccups at all. I want to still work on the trigger as it is heavy but otherwise it's great! I would highly recommend to any one wanting to do this to read up a bit, watch some videos on what you need to do, then...

Re: 80% 1911?

Well thanks Sam. I like to at least think I am smart enough to look into and learn what I need to do to not screw things to bad. If I get into something I am unsure of I stop and ask questions and figure out what needs to be done before moving on. I also feel I have above average mechanical skills t...

Re: 80% 1911?

What did you need for tools/jigs for this endeavor? I used the jig in the 2nd link in the OP to cut the frame. It is what they call the phantom jig. It basically is two aluminum plates that has a slot on each side where the rails need to be cut. Then there is a third aluminum plate that slides in t...

Re: 80% 1911?

If you click on the links on the first page it will tell you. I bought the complete kit and had to buy the jig separately for about $1300. So by no means is this a cheap way of getting a 1911. But that is not why I did it. I wanted to build one and learn a bunch in the process. This gun is very tigh...
