Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

The husband and I shoot Berettas. They're nice, but there's something about them that feels a bit different when shouldered than others. People say you like a Beretta or you don't. Be sure to thoroughly check one out if you're thinking about it. (Also, both, including mine which was really expensive...

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

I use one of these on my semi-auto when shooting trap and I really like it: http://www.tandsshellcatcher.com/ Very easy to load with it in place with minimal practice, and also very easy to grab the shell out after a shot. With a full group for trap, I can unload the spent shell and load a new one a...

Re: .45 pistol question

The Baby Eagles are IWI/IMI (Israeli Weapons Industry, previously I think Israeli Military Industry? something like that...the Jericho 941 originally came with interchangeable barrels and mags to switch between 9mm and .41 cal). They're built over there, imported by Magnum Research and stamped as Ba...

Re: .45 pistol question

Well, I ran into an unbelievable deal on a used XD in great shape and couldn't pass it up. So I think my high-cap .45 search is over, and I can just start saving for something to satisfy my desire for "pretty" like a Sig 220 Elite to match my 226, and/or a nice 1911. :) Thanks again for al...

Re: .45 pistol question

Mnglocker - I won't be able to make it to the Gopher unfortunately, that Sat is booked already. Sigs are in many ways my favorites, and I just love the Equinox, and with 10-round mags it's back on my list - but does anyone know if the 10-rounders sit flush or stick out at the bottom a little? I'm pr...

Re: .45 pistol question

Thanks for the replies everyone! Yes, Hammar, those are gorgeous guns, but a few hundred out of my price range sadly. I have a Baby Eagle in 9mm and love it, but haven't shot the .45 recently (I think I snagged one and tried it out at the Bill's show last Spring and seem to remember not liking it bu...

.45 pistol question

I've been thinking of picking up a full-size .45, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for exists. I was thinking steel-frame, since I tend to strongly prefer them over the polymer (the plastic grips tend to chew up my hand, and since this would be just for fun the extra weight of steel would be nice)....

Re: How easy would it be?

Then we'll wake up one day, maybe not in 4 years, maybe not in 8, but someday, and we'll be like England. You only wake up if you fall asleep first. Just saying. Oh I know. There will always be people who don't sleep, metaphorically, but will they be enough people to have any weight when so many ot...

Re: How easy would it be?

I don't think it would be easy for any administration early in it's time in office to make a massive sweeping change like you describe, Strad. What I think will happen, and it will be easy, is step by step implementation of "reasonable restrictions." Nothing will violate the spirit of Hell...

Re: I want your $0.02 on a Kel Tec

Victoria, would you care to elaborate on what methods and holster types you use to carry with you more fitted clothing? This would be some great information for me to be able to share with the better half. Thanks!!! I have a belly band I don't like a lot, but for the price it helped a lot with me t...

Re: Women and carrying

I'm happy to answer questions, and sometime when I can get to it, possibly sharing some cropped pix. A good site I recommend to women trying to figure out things about carry is the Women & Guns forum. There are lots of threads, some with great pictures, of how to carry, what to carry, and so for...

Re: I want your $0.02 on a Kel Tec

One of the things I've struggled with as a chick who is going to carry is my wardrobe. I dress mostly in fitted clothing, rather than loose, but the thing that it came down to for me personally is that when I'm going to carry, my wardrobe may need to be adjusted a bit. Being safe is more important t...

Re: Bill's Fall Shooter's Show

Sounds like they got more stuff out after we were there Friday morning. The LCP was one of the things I was hoping to try out and it was nowhere to be found. It was being rented quite a bit. We have one in our regular rental stock and you're more than welcome to try it next time you're at the range...

Re: Gun Cozies!

Of course, it helps that I don't have a Glock. Not much you can do besides a cozy or some paint to spruce those up . ;) How about some hard chrome and custom engraving. http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/admin/product_details.php?itemID=16707 or maybe... http://www.col...

Re: Bill's Fall Shooter's Show

Glad I went today, got to try a LCP, glad I didn't buy one. Couldn't hit a consistant pattern with one. Tried a Walther PPK, was much better and of course a lot more $$. Will have to start looking for a good deal on a PPK. Sounds like they got more stuff out after we were there Friday morning. The ...
