I got a Side Guard holster for mine. Works very well. As far as the weight, well steel and wood are heavy. Not any worse than carrying my 6" GP100.

Three and a half side flip WITH intestinal whip off the low mound. That has got to be at least a 9.5.

I built mine to bar stool height. Sometimes it feels better on my back to stand instead of sit. The lower shelf worked out to be a nice footrest to.
