I have used brenneke slugs in a smooth bore to good effect on deer(stopped several with it),would keep them in a pie plate at 100 yards with iron sites.

Shoots well..not fun to shoot being its pretty light.

I have found that tools last longer and work better with the work edge a sub 10 micro inch finish and the geometries properly held.
That tormek is just plain sexy...having hard time keeping myself from buying it.
