Re: Rebluing

A couple of problems with nitre bluing. Because of the high heat involved, it's not recommended for things like frames or slides. It is also a very fragile finish, it will be rubbed off after you holster the piece a few times. I use nitre bluing on non-critical pins and screws. I don't know what tem...

Re: Mossberg 500 Pheasant 12ga, problen?

It's been a while since I've been in a 500, but I have seen this problem. As unlikely as it would seem, the bolt carrier can get inserted wrong. The slide will move back and forth but bolt can't lock. If you pull the trigger group you should be able to see the bolt carrier. Next you need to align th...

Re: help finding old press parts

There's a guy on castboolits.com selling a projector and a ton of spare parts. He's asking $225 plus shipping, but there's enough stuff there to keep your's running another 30 yrs. I had 2 projectors, one for large primers and one for small, changing primers always took a lot of tuning. I ended up s...

Re: High end air rifles.

Try B&B supply At 4501 Minnehaha in Minneapolis, I haven't been there in a while but he carried RWS, FWB, Styer and a few others. Also a great place for service as well.

Re: U of M Medical Center.

I go there every week and have noticed they have the no gun signs at most, but not all entrances. Personally, I've never considered carrying beyond the parking area.

Re: 6x45 AR

I built one about 25 years ago for deer hunting. Used an Olympic full heavy ultra match 20" barrel, that's what was available then. My intent was to turn it down to the old M-16 profile but it arrived the day I was headed to deer camp so I assembled the upper before I left, assembled ammo in ca...

Re: Lubing 223

A few ways I have lubed mass quantities over the years. Dillon spray lube, put 150-200 cases in a 1 gallon Ziploc bag, give it 4-5 squirts of lube, shake it for a minute or so. Dump them out on some newspaper for a few minutes and size them. You can make this lube by mixing liquid lanolin and 99% is...

Re: Gun Permits for Blind?????????????????????

I recall a few months ago that Stevie Wonder was pissed off that he could buy a firearm, just like anybody else. I guess he feels that he should be discriminated against!
