I have a couple 1911s, one being a Rock Island that I got a few months ago. 500 rounds through it with an assortment of different mags and no problems. I'd have no problem recommending them.

I installed the spring kit in my SW9VE and like it. It helped the the trigger pull but once in a while I'll get a light strike but that could have been the primers I was using.

I use the Lee (not so) Perfect Powder Measure and I find that if I tap the handle at the top of the stroke and again at the bottom my charges within .1 grain. If you want super accurate loads get a good scale, I like a beam scale like my Hornady and trickle to the load you want. Hornady or RCBS are ...

I think everyone covered the slide operation. I have the same issue and trained myself to use my support hand to actuate the magazine release from a two handed grip. That said, I don't carry a spare magazine. If I'm ever in a situation where I need to draw a firearm the odds I'll need a reload are s...

I'm pretty picky about my knives and the sharpness. Gotta shave hair. That Lansky set is money well spent. The only thing I'd add is a strop. You'll be shaving like Crocodile Dundee in no time.

Check out The ABCs of reloading as a guide as well, I was recommended to me by a lot of people when I started a couple years ago.

Re: Re: Leather Gun Belt Maker

There is a shoe store in Buffalo Center, IA that will make whatever you want. Weavers leather and shoes, he made mine and Jim you know I am no small fry. I use them for all shoe repair and Red Wing shoes, very good family to deal with. I think my belt cost $30.00 for a size 50 x 1.75 wide. They are...

Re: Leather Gun Belt Maker

BigDog: can you post back when you find something. I've also been looking for a big man belt. I used to have a guy that did Ren Fest make them but he has since quit and I can't contact him.

Re: single action revolvers

I've seen "gunfighter" style hammers for SA revolvers. Can't remember where but they should be available. ETA: I did a little quick looking and it seems that the super Blackhawk hammer is a drop in for the Vaquero and a little lower. Check Brownells, from what I was able to find out with q...

Re: Best .22 pistol for plinking and reactive targets?

No love for the Beretta Neos? Fun to shoot, accurate if you do your part, easy takedown, under $300.

ETA: you can also change barrels easily and they make a carbine kit for it.
